5.0 out of 5 stars Enlightened Journey; Buddhist Practice as Daily Life., November 30, 1999
This review is from: Enlightened Journey: Buddhist Practice as Daily Life (Paperback)
I recommend this book for those seeking accurate and true information about Buddhist practice. As a Tulku, or reincarnated teacher, the author presents extremely serious topics in a clear and lucid way. The descriptions of the meditations, states of awareness and the bardo transition are powerful and awe-inspiring. The author has qualities of understanding and compassion, along with a clear embodiment of the subject, that provided me with immediate insights and recognitions of human spiritual experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Master (GURU) Padmasambhava (PEMA), please bestow (HUM) attainments (SIDDHI), January 30, 2011
This book has 13 main chapters that cover widest possible range of topics.
Author presents explanation on the tradition within Nyingma School
of Tibetan Buddhism of "treasures" and their classes as well
as history of the Nyingma Tradition.

For a while this book was the only source of information in
English language in a form of summary on the very famous commentary of
Lama Mipham Namgyal Rinpoche (1846-1912),
now translated and published, "The White Lotus".

There is presentation on the intermediate states,
the bardo, direct meditation instructions.
As well as clear explanation of the Empowerment Ceremony and practice
of upholding the commitments common to various vehicles within the Vajrayana.

From Page 171:
"Master (GURU) Padmasambhava (PEMA), please bestow (HUM) attainments (SIDDHI) [upon us]."
Page 173:
"GURU means master or spiritual guide, one who is prosperous with excellent qualities; to whom no one is superior...
PADMA is the first part of Guru Rinpoche's name.
SIDDHI is what we want to accomplish - the common and uncommon attainments.
HUM means the supplication to bestow the siddhis (attainments).
So, O Guru Padma, bestow the siddhi."
