5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!!
I stayed up till three in the morning finishing this book. It is very suspenceful, but also takes time to develop the characters, new and old. I really liked how Walter and Ashley's relashonship matured throughout the book. Walter and Gabe, finally meet, providing some good laughs, and Larry is hilarious as usual. Serious, and a few sad moments also appear. All the plots...

3.0 out of 5 stars No Billy and Bonnie. Book goes from potentially great to just so-so
Enoch's Ghost was great. Let me start by saying that. The plot was well designed, and the suspense kept me reading the book.
It just lacked some spark that the other books had (Raising Dragons, Candlestone, Circles of Seven, Tears of a Dragon, and Eye of the Oracle).
Here is what it all boils down to, Billy and Bonnie had zero participation in the book. The...

I really liked how Walter and Ashley's relashonship matured throughout the book. Walter and Gabe, finally meet, providing some good laughs, and Larry is hilarious as usual. Serious, and a few sad moments also appear. All the plots weave together flawlessly in the end, and many questions are answered. But of course more questions are raised. I am anxiosly awaiting the next installment (which is not good since it won't be comeing out for nearly a year).

5.0 out of 5 stars Tired of your tween or teen playing video games all day?, January 20, 2008
This review is from: Enoch's Ghost (Oracles of Fire, Book 2) (Paperback)
If you are tired of your son or daughter playing video games all day, tune them into a series of books guaranteed to keep them occupied at least a few days anyway. This is the second of four books in the series "Dragons in Our Midst". My son could not put these books down! They are written with good morals in mind while not being preachy. You will want to buy the whole series because once started, they will plow straight through! This mom gives a big thumbs up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!, July 3, 2007
This review is from: Enoch's Ghost (Oracles of Fire, Book 2) (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Enoch's Ghost! I love how Bryan Davis is able to keep ... *counts* ... 4 plot lines going throughout the entire book, and then flawlessly bring them all together to the climactic ending.

What a beautiful story of sacrifice and love - I could read and re-read this book as many time as I want, and never ever get tired of it. It's message gives me a sense of hope and peace, reminding me of the unfailing love of my Savior.

I applaud Mr. Davis for yet another beautiful installment in the Oracles of Fire series, and I can't wait for the next one!

Thumbs up, Mr. Davis :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Enoch's Ghost, September 29, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Enoch's Ghost (Oracles of Fire, Book 2) (Paperback)
This book was wonderful! It was so exciting, and I loved it. I read it in four days. I didn't take it to school because if I did, I probably would read through class and not be able to pay attention. I had to be sure to save it for after school when I had more time.
Although in this book, Billy only appears in this story in a scene where he is talking to Walter on his cell phone, the plots and descriptions make it so you can hardly miss Billy and Bonnie! I really like both the new and old main characters in Enoch's Ghost, and I really enjoyed the descriptions of Heaven's Altar and of Heaven.
In addition to Walter, Ashley, and Karen, Sapphira, Acacia (the oracles of fire), and Elam are among others who appear once again in Enoch's Ghost. In Enoch's Ghost, Mardon tries to make a new tower like Nimrod's, but with this one he hopes to join Earth and Heaven. It's up to Walter and all his friends to stop Mardon's evil plan!
Enoch's Ghost was well written, and I hope that you will read it as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love these books, August 9, 2007

Bryan Davis perhaps the most talented writer in the Christian Fantasy genre today. His books, while initially aimed at children, are captivating to read, you won't want to put them down. This latest in his works does not disappoint, the characters come alive in your imagination!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Enoch's Ghost" is the best yet!, July 18, 2007
This review is from: Enoch's Ghost (Oracles of Fire, Book 2) (Paperback)
I loved Bryan Davis's "Dragons in our Midst" series and his new series, "Oracles of Fire", is proving to be another exceptional story. The character of Saphira Adi is marvelous and the subtle romantic elements were ingenious. I loved the scene with the Lake of Fire.

Spiritual truths abound, peril is frequent, and other dimensions are explored. Two thumbs up! (If I had more I'd put them up as well) I loved the other books but I think this one is the best yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Picks up right where Dragons in Our Midst and Eye of the Oracle left off, September 15, 2008
This review is from: Enoch's Ghost (Oracles of Fire, Book 2) (Paperback)
Enoch's Ghost is in my mind best referred to as the fifth book in the Dragons in Our Midst series. It picks up right where Tears of a Dragon left off, following Ashley, Walter, Karen, and Thigocia on their journey to find Makaidos. Readers should definitely be up to speed on the events in both Eye of the Oracle (Oracles of Fire) and the Dragons in Our Midst series.

Like me, some readers may be put off by the title, but there is no ghost in the book. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't say what it refers to, but it isn't anything ghostly at all.

How's the book line up with the rest of Bryan Davis' brilliant dragon books? Perfectly. I really can't say more than that. Great characters, a breathtaking story, and an ending that will leave you waiting for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Christian Fantasy, May 16, 2008
This review is from: Enoch's Ghost (Oracles of Fire, Book 2) (Paperback)
As evil forces seek to merge heaven and earth, the former dragons and their allies seek to stop them. Events build to a climax in three different worlds, with an unexpected, heartrending conclusion. My personal favorite of all Davis' books.
