A PRECEDENT FOR ALL PEOPLE, AROUND THE WORLD, February 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Enough is Enough: Aboriginal Women Speak Out (Paperback)
MY MOTHER, EVA SAULIS (GOOKUM) WAS ONE OF THE FIRST, STRONG NATIVE WOMEN TO FINALLY SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH". HER STAND AND THAT OF OTHERS SET A PRECEDENT TO GRASS ROOTS PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD TO CONTINUE TO VOICE THE ISSUES, CONCERNS, AND ESPECIALLY THE INJUSTICES THAT EFFECT THEIR DAILY LIVES. THEY REMIND US THAT NO MATTER WHAT OR WHO IS OVERWHELMING,WE WILL EVENTUALLY OVERCOME, BECAUSE OF OUR SPIRIT AND LOVE OF OTHERS. ALLAN SAULIS

The author, janet silman lived with our family while doing the research for her book, this is an accurate account of the struggles many native women and children experience in their own communities.
