More About the Author

I live in Alberta, Canada, where the weather is forever changing (without warning). I married the man of my dreams on August 15, 2015. He is my high school sweetheart and love of my life. There are no children in my life as of right now, but we do have a handful of rambunctious cats (five) and a testy, rescued Shepard/Husky, who take up a lot of my time.

Ever since I can remember, I've adored the written word. English was always my favorite class and that may be biased because I can't count to save my life, so math was a horror! I remember the very first novel I ever read, Shocking Pink by Erica Spindler. It was the most interesting of the covers on my mom's bookshelf (probably because it was pink) and I was way too young to be reading that novel. But I fell in love. From there, I read almost everything from V.C. Andrews.

My writing started out as poetry, which then evolved to songs, and later into novels. I was never one for the short stories as I found it too difficult to pack everything I imagined into something so small.

Despite my favorite younger reading material, I now adore writing and reading all things romance.

I almost enjoyed this book, but the timing was so ridiculous that I couldn't take Dace and Ella's relationship seriously. I liked their dynamic, their banter, and I particularly enjoyed his possessive intensity. BUT...it all happens way, way, way too fast.

Ella loses both of her beloved parents in a car accident a week or two before Thanksgiving. She returns to school, meets Dace, and 3-4 days into their relationship they're very, very good friends. Ella believes she SEES and UNDERSTANDS him as others do not. And even though he's the Dangerous, Angry, Man-Ho with Tats, he's instantly and inexplicably all about her. They immediately begin spending all their time together, but only as friends. Good friends. Dear friends, etc.

Two weeks into their relationship--Ella declares that Dace is her Best Friend and tells him she loves him as such. Wow, that was fast. And oh yeah, they watch a scary movie and being sleeping in the same bed--as best friends. Except he sleeps on top of her, lying between her legs. The new friend zone, apparently. (Ella gets a bit riled up in this position, but apparently no, ahem, 'rise' out of Dace in this situation.)

BEGIN SPOILER----------------------->

Soon after, very soon after, they make out a time or two. Virgin Ella slows things down a bit, so Dace storms off and gets it on with another chick. He's only sorta cheating, because after all, they're just friends. Good friends. Best Friends. Ella is understandably crushed but realizes she's been sending him SO many mixed messages for SO long that he just cracked and thought it would never/could never happen with her. Except, what's it been, like FOUR FREAKING WEEKS?

I don't understand all the positive reviews. I thought I had struck gold with all the positive reviews and it was free. Now, I'm just glad it was free or I would NOT be happy. Some spoilers next so stop if you don't want to hear. First, that whole friendship thing went on WAY too long. At some point, it became obviously ridiculous. Second, he cheats. I guess it's not really cheating, though, since they are "friends", right??? Even though every thing in this book says they are NOT just "friends." Third, the heroine. Ugh. Really? She's weak. Insecure. Second guesses herself to much. Forgives him WAY too easy and even blames HERSELF when she catches him cheating. UGH!!! I wouldn't even suggest this for a quick, free read. I am deleting it immediately. :(

I enjoyed the book until about 60% then (spoiler) she finds him with his pants down and just forgives him. I get love is supposed to conquer all but come on what woman would turn in her v card hours after finding her man imbedded in another woman. It wasn't realistic, it was pathetic. And her BFF was weak. They all acted like dace was so damaged but he didn't read that way. I was disappointed with this book, and likely won't read anything else by this author.

This story had some promise to it at first.I quit reading it about 60% through because of several reasons.I got real weary of the 'friendship' card way back but fed up here.there is a need for spell check in this e book too.
I am glad this was free to try.It needs serious depth to the characters to be good.I see some people really liked it- but I didn't.

I really really liked the story but then the last quarter of the book it felt like the author decided to give up and wrapped it up so fast that it ruined the rest of the story! As soon as they had sex the story ended basically, big reveal of conflict that Dace said too bad accept it and she did. The rushed HEA ruined the book for me.

The story line could have been great but some things just made me go what??!! I get that some relationships have blurred lines and this could easily have been one of them but it just got weird at some points. I did read the entire book and found myself laughing and sad at some of the story line. Some things though just didnt seem very well thought out. Like catching him in the act with another woman and then a few hours later allowing him to take her V card. I would have been mad as hell, regardless of how much I loved him, because of how much I loved him really. With a little tweaking to the story line it could be an amazing read. I still enjoyed it with the "what, no way?!" parts. I try not to do too many spoilers so I am going to leave it at that.

I initially got this book because it was free and because the description caught my attention. While I don't think this was a horrible book, I don't necessarily believe it is a great book in the form that it is now.

To me, this was like reading someone's rough draft of a book. It is riddled with grammatical and spelling errors. Also, some of the wording gets jumbled up and you have to re-read a portion to see what is really going on. The main characters lacked depth, originality, and description. (How old WAS Daman, anyway?) The story line was a little too fake and dramatic for my taste. I liked the way it started and even when she met Daman for the first time,but his stalker-like tendencies were just a HUGE turn off. (Hey, we've already had Edward Cullen and Christian Grey....come up with something different!)

With all of that being said, I believe that the author had a good idea and had the best of intentions, but whoever edited this did the author a disservice. I noticed the author has put out several other works, so I am not sure what happened with this one in particular, but I am willing to read her other books and do a comparison.
