Book Description

"DARK, DANGEROUS, AND ABSOLUTELY ADDICTING."— Christina Dodd on Tempted

OrpheusTo most he's an enigma, a devil-may-care rogue who does whatever he pleases whenever he wants. Now this loose cannon is part of the Eternal Guardians—elite warriors assigned to protect the human realm—whether he likes it or not.

Orpheus has just one goal: to rescue his brother from the Underworld. He's not expecting a woman to get in the way. Especially not a Siren as gorgeous as Skyla. He has no idea she's an assassin sent by Zeus to seduce, entrap, and ultimately destroy him.

Yet Skyla herself might have the most to lose. There's a reason Orpheus feels so familiar to her, a reason her body seems to crave him. Perhaps he's not the man everyone thinks... The truth could reveal a deadly secret as old as the Eternal Guardians themselves.

Praise for Elisabeth Naughton:

"The sensuality of Sherrilyn Kenyon and the intensity of Patricia Briggs."—New York Times bestselling author Angie Fox

"Elisabeth Naughton combines dynamic dialogue and sizzling romance with a wicked cool world. Do not miss this series."—New York Timesbestselling author Larissa Ione

3.0 out of 5 stars liked, but not as well as the others (spoilers) April 15, 2012
By rn
Format:Kindle Edition
Orpheus was my favorite of the characters so far & I had been looking forward to his book, but I feel like the author took him away from me.

He went from being the unpredictable bad boy who you know who will come through when the chips are down (because that's just what happens in romance novels-that's why we like them...) to your average generic good guy hero by the end of the book. Not nearly as interesting.

The little bit of unpredictability (not to mentiontion the glowing green eyes) is what made him Orpheus. Now those are gone.

It would have been much more interesting to watch how the others deal with the daemon in thier midst over time as well & now they don't have to. They found out, then problem solved before most of them really had to come to grips with it.

I'm all for wrapping things up nice and tidy, and for happily ever afters; I don't read this stuff to get bummed out or to live in the real world after all, but lets not have it be too easy or generic please. We got something pretty good with the first three, I hope we aren't going to go downhill and have the rest be just rote generic romance novel-I can get than anywhere. I would like to continue to look forward to the rest of them as much as looked forward to the next 3 after I found "Marked."

3.0 out of 5 stars Enraptured August 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I haven't read the previous three books in the Eternal Guardians series and was worried that I would have a hard time following the characters and plot in Enraptured. Thankfully, Naughton does a great job of providing background information without slowing down the plot. There were some characters from the previous books that were integral in the overall plot in Enraptured. I wanted to know more about them and their background. I guess that means I will have to go back and read books 1-3, huh?

When I started reading Enraptured, it took me awhile to get into the story. I couldn't connect with Orpheus and Skyla in the beginning. As the book progressed, I found myself warming up to Orpheus but still not liking Skyla. Both Orpheus and Skyla come from a shared past that only Skyla remembers. As a Siren, she is tasked with doing a job and that job is destroy Orpheus. Orpheus feels like he knows Skyla but realizes it's impossible. He knows that the Siren is out to destroy him but he won't let her deter him from his mission of saving his brother.

Orpheus and Skyla have great chemistry and are both strong and determined. The sexual attraction is obvious and explosive. It kind of shocked me that they had sex so soon and then we hate to wait awhile before they hooked up again. There's a lot sexual innuendo and taunting between the two that made for some smoking hot dialog that threatened to singe my Kindle.

For me, Enraptured didn't start getting really good until the last 40 - 45%. The action picked up and the overall plot became more emotional and I was truly and utterly hooked. Both Orpheus and Skyla have to face and deal with their past. Orpheus has to come to terms with what happened to his brother, Gryphon. I swear there were some scenes with Gryphon that had me on the verge of tears. I did not expect that.

Even though I had problems with the beginning, I enjoyed reading Enraptured and I now want to read the previous three books. I loved the Greek mythology and the politics. The characters were interesting and I especially now want to read the stories of the heroes and heroines of the first three books. Also, I can't wait to read Gryphon's book and about his journey. I have a feeling it is going to be heartbreaking.

The Eternal Guardian series will definitely be added to my must buy list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series May 13, 2012

I am an avid reader of PNR books. I read at least 3 books a week and always looking for great books and writers. Naughton was an excellent surprise. I love this series. The first book got me hooked and I found myself devouring the first 4 books in no time. I loved the 4th book. It's about the love between brothers and trust within the warriors. The relationship between Orpheus and Skyla was heart felt. The heart breaks and doubts the hero and heroine went through was soul searing.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series. And like any other series I truly love, I will await the next books. If you like this type of books, I also highly recommend Tessa Dawn's blood series.
