Saramago is our first Nobel of Literature. When I read "Ensaio sobre a Cegueira" (Blindness as it was translated to english) he was not a Nobel Prize winner yet. It is not easy to begin reading Saramago. This book is one of his best. I couln't stop reading it, so I was awake until 5 am, until it was over... It takes all your attention and you don't want to stop!Read it! |
