2008 reissue of Ensiferum's 2001 self titled debut album which was mixed by Tuomo Valtonen in his studio. Tuomo Valtonen made the record ballsy, as he always does. At similar times Ensiferum had a new addition to it's line-up: a keyboard player. Meiju Enho joined Ensiferum and so the band became five-membered. Ensiferum (Latin ensiferum - meaning "sword bearing") is a Viking / Folk Metal band from Helsinki, Finland. The band label themselves as "Heroic Folk Metal". 12 tracks.

This is the first album of the Ensiferum and what an album it is. In fact it is one of best albums in Viking/Folk metal genre, and I would rank it really high among metal albums in general.

The music of Ensiferum is very melodic and catchy. They have folk elements (thus melody over melody) and sometimes even wander into black metal borders. They mix and mash it in a very elegant way that you'll never get bored while listening to this album. I cannot recommend it enough, just get it.

All songs are great but checkout Token of Time, Eternal Wait,Goblins' Dance to have an idea about the album's variety.
