I bought one of these to see if I liked it enough to buy more for various uses, and I think it's great! From a distance it looks like the LL Bean bags, and you can only tell up close that it is nylon (has the "graph paper" threading characteristic of nylon) and not heavy-duty canvas. For most uses, I think this bag would be superior to a canvas one, since nylon is so durable and water-resistant. I agree with another reviewer that this would make an excellent grocery bag, and I think I will buy more for that use. I don't think this bag can be beat for the price, especially since it has shoulder-length straps. The only negative is that is has a plastic smell right out of the package (it has vinyl backing on the inside, adding extra durability), but that should dissipate after a little use and airing.

I bought 5 of these for gifts. I had them monogramed and they were perfect for bridal party.

We use these to take to the grocery store so we don't end up with a million plastic bags. These are great -- more rigid than most canvas bags, so filling them is much easier. Plus, they easily carry what would take two of the plastic bags.

I am not sure how to review a bag.
Before I was carrying my change of clothes in a free plastic shopping bag from a bookstore. That was OK for a couple months, but when it fell apart it became clear I needed a serious bag. So I bought this.
This is a serious bag. It has a sturdy construction and feels like it will last for the rest of my life (in its current use, carrying a change of clothes). I like it. And the outside pocket is a convenient plus.

I bought five totes for bridesmaids gift and they were perfect. I found someone locally to put each bridesmaid name on their own bag. The bag is big and durable. It looks really nice.

I was a little disappointed when I first got these, because I somehow, perhaps wrongly, got it into my head that these were made of cotton canvas. They are 100% synthetic material. The description doesn't say this. On the other hand, the synthetic material gives the tote one very nice feature: they are very easy to clean. I have left them in the hot car with coffee and food stains on them for weeks on end, and just throwing them into the washing machine makes them come out perfectly white again. How nice!

I purchased this tote (black and white) to carry books to and from the library. The fabric is nice and heavy, and the stitching is secure. I'm thinking about purchasing a couple more to carry towels and things to the pool. Overall, I have been very pleased.

The boat tote is light-weight, versatile and it comes in five different colors. It has long straps, which make carrying items by the straps or over the shoulder quite easy. It's made of sturdy material. The tote is both wide & deep and can readily handle everything from groceries to bulky items. Substituting the boat tote for a paper or plastic bag is also environmentally friendly. The hardest part when going shopping is remembering to take the tote with you when you go into the store.

I originally bought this for grocery shopping and school, but ended up taking it wherever I go as an everyday bag!!
The design is nice and simple, great for any situation, can be used as work bag, school bag, grocery bag, beach bag, anything!
You can fit tons of stuff in this bag, and the straps are long enough and comfortable even when there is a whole lot of weight to carry. The best part about this bag is that, when it comes to bags I have a pet peeve about the strap slipping off my shoulder, if you know what I mean. I hate having to pull it back up continuously especially if I'm carrying something in my other hand.
This bag doesn't slip off easily at all!!

The appearance:
The material looks like canvas from afar, but is actually a bit firmer ("stands" when on the floor when there is something in it, instead of slumping over) than canvas and is water-proof.

There is one outer pocket (I use it for gum and tic-tacs etc...)


The pros: fits anything, looks good, and is comfortable to carry!

The cons: wish it had an inner pocket with a zipper, or a zipper for the top of the bag. Since it's a tote, the open top makes it easy to reach an arm in and grab something, which is good if I'm the one grabbing, but bad if not!

I might even attach a zipper myself.

Other than that, I would definitely recommend this bag to others =)

Fits over the shoulder, roomy, sturdy, waterproof, and with multiple color choices and great pricing, this gets my vote for best multi-use bag!
