I ordered monthly delivery of Ensure shakes to my elderly parents who drink one daily. They have commented that it really gives them a boost. I am pleased that they are having something healthy to drink. They love the flavor of vanilla and chocolate. Through the subscription service, I have alternating flavors each month delilvered to their door. I am really pleased with this arrangement since I live out of state and not near them.

I am just getting ready to throw away a case of this Ensure made by Abbott Labs which I bought from Amazon for $25 shipped last year (May 2010). I wanted to send this back, unopened, as soon as I received it last year because of the excessive sugars (31g combined) and potassium (500mg) and relatively low protein (12g), but I found out from the Amazon return process that returning these type of canned drinks was virtually impossible.

Excessive sugar and sugar alcohols is not good for you and can lead to diabetes and gastric problems from the sugar alcohols. If protein is what you are after, you can make it from a high quality whey protein isolate (up to 97% protein) and fruits blended together - you will get a far richer and fresher product and avoid all the corn syrup by products and additives. This product is high in phosphorus from added calcium phosphate which is not kidney friendly. Also contain soy oil and protein, canola oil.

So stay away from these type of drinks unless you have no choice and need something canned and have a long self life.

I review a lot of products here on Amazon.com, but none am I as grateful for as this. I have an elderly family member who had become so weak she could hardly move or speak. She lives thousands of miles away from me, and I haven't been unable to do a lot for her. One thing I could do, however, is send her shipments of this Ensure package every two weeks, through Amazon's subscription service. She loves how it tastes, and that means she drinks it, once or twice a day. It's been a few months now and she is so much better. I can't contribute all the success to Ensure, of course, as she is also getting round-the-clock care in a nursing home. But the simple fact that she will drink this is the key to everything. She refuses to eat a lot of the nursing home food because of the bland (or worse) taste, but she has no problem with these -- especially in this flavor, Homemade Vanilla Supreme Shake.

I wish I could give it 50 stars, not 5.

This product is great, tastes great, and very good for protein at 12-13 gms. of protein, potassium, B-Complex, and now the manufacturer has just come out with "an auto-immune" component to this product, to keep one healthier,as the huge baby boomer population ages, slows aging, and prevents illness, keeps your mind and body strong, and its much better for you than a steak, or a burger or hot-tog by far!

I purchased this product for my mother who had open heart surgery and they prescribed a diet higher in protein to help her breast bone heal. This product not only tastes great, but is just packed with nutrition. I am now in a class in college on Nutrition and this is a very good addition to one's diet/menu. I also like the fact that we order it by the master case, that way she was stocked up for quite some time. I recommend this to anyone...unless you cannot take in soy protein.

Great tasting nutritional drink! Can get a little chunky if not shaken really good but doesn't have the grainy protein taste of other drinks in its class. Drink in moderation if you're watching calories, though.

I first used this product while very sick, but I continue to drink it because of the great taste and nutrition. Basically replaced most milk shake cravings.

While this product used to be about $25 for 24 bottles, they changed it to $45. I would have kept buying at $25 a case, but definitely not at $45. I will just go to Boost. My local grocery store often sells Boost on sale for about $26 for 24 bottles. Good job Abbott for not being competitive.

Ordeded and received item in a few days. I joined the reship monthly on this item, BUT as of now it's out of stock and on back order. It's a great deal if I'm able to get it monthly!!

Good taste, filling and nutritionally complete for very reasonable caloric intake - excellent after a workout
