and thats a good thing. This is a piece of music that shows that thuggery can be an artistic form of expression. Never before has the thought of bashing someone in the mug and making off with their wallet seemed so..so..beautiful. the choice samples layered in thick chunky slabs of filtered basslines and well-accenuated highs and melodics perfectly drizzle in and out of Buckshot's words and flow. It literally takes you on a marijuana trance through the rugged streets of Brooklyn. I mean, i listen to this album and i wonder why someone hasn't handed Fitty or Diddy a bullet in the cranium for their atrocities that sell publicly on the shelves of record stores. This is real hip hop. THIS is GANGSTER...not that Diplo crap or Retard Unit or any of these other mentally and artistically challenged kids from the streets. I only gave it 5 stars because Amazon wouldn't let me give it a gazillion....If you do not own this record, you should flog yourself against the hood of a moving automobile, preferably a station-wagon with wood paneling and metallic-peat colored paint because you are a nerd.

When [stuff] Was Real,
By "sugglife" (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Enta Da Stage (Audio CD)
This album is one of my top ten albums of all time. Itrepresents a time period between '92-'95 when the East Coast wasdefinitely runnin' [things]. I'm talkin' about when it was Gang Starr, Tribe, Nas(when he was still Illmatic), Smif-n-Wessun(when they were known as Smif-n-Wessun), Biggie(before he was reincarnated), theWuwhen all 36 were in full effect); puttin' it down for New York. Buckshot's flow is by far one of the best ever heard, and more than makes up for his petty lexicon. 5 Ft.'s few appearances are stellar, and the production by Evil Dee and Mr.Walt was some of the most original, extraordinary stuff to date. One of the only albums in a while to incorporate uncompromising, street hardness while keeping hip-hop pure. Few have came, and few will come, that are up to the caliber of the legendary Black Moon.

Top 10,
By A Customer

One of the best pure rap records ever, up there with 36 Chambers, Illmatic, Raising Hell, Nation of Millions, Straight Outta Compton, Amerikkka's Most Wanted. No wack ass R&B backups, no guest appearances by J Lo or Jah Rule, no pimpin', no bling bling, and no special bonus track produced by Puff Diddly. Just raw beats and rhymes, f the dumb sh*t.....

One of the best Hip-Hop albums of all-time.,

I still remember the day that I bought this album. I was 14 years old and I was in the record storeand I was looking for something new. I mean at the time I was only 14 and had limited funds so I wasn't able to just buy cd's when ever I want like I do now. So I was looking through the rap section & I stumbled across 'Enta da stage', so I took the last $10 bill outta my pocket & paid for it. WOW, this was the best $10 I ever spent. This album changed the whole scene for East Coast Rap forever. Every single song, lyric & beat is intoxicating from Buckshot's voice to Evil Dee's beats this album is a 5 mic classic even though "The Source" didn't think so. Yo, all I gotta say is that if you love Hip-Hop u gotta own this classic album. I just wish Black Moon would put out more material like this. No disrespect to them now, but 'Enta da stage' was something special.

Black Moon - Enta Da Stage,

This is the first album that I have heard from the Boot Camp Clik. Black Moon came VERY nice on this album. The emcee you hear the most from on this album is "Buckshot". You will also hear appearances from "5Ft", "Tek", "Steele", "Dru Ha" and "Havoc".
First off the lyrics. The lyrics on this album are straight in your face with street banger type songs. From the song list, you get the point. But they even though though they arent the most lyrical emcees on this album, they still got very dope lyrics. The production in one word, amazing. Da Beatminerz were behind the production on this album and its absolutely dope. The producers are "DJ Evil Dee" and "Mr. Walt". You listen to the beats on this album, then you understand and comprehend what REAL hip-hop beats sound like!! This album is filled with HIGH amounts of bass, trust me on that one! I'll just break it down like this, if you like real hip-hop/hip-hop from that era/ or just DOPE underground hip-hop this album belongs in YOUR collection! Trust me, dont pass this up! My Top 5 Songs 1.Powaful Impak! 2.Who Got Da Props? 3.Son Get Wrec 4.I Got Cha Opin 5.U Da Man

One of the most groundbreaking debut's ever,

Masterpiece, Influential, Impeccable, Groundbreaking, HipHop. These are just some words that can be used to describe the magnitude of Black Moon - Enta Da Stage. Incase you don't know, this dropped back in one of the best years for hiphop, 1993, and pretty much blew anything else away at that time. Made up of MC Buckshot Shorty, Evil Dee & 5ft Excellerator Black Moon instantly became known for their Ruff, Rugged & Raw sound/attitude that would inevitably influence many upcoming MC's & groups, especially in the East. This is the epitome of that Early 90's New York Street sound, and is still, 13 years later, second to none. The single Who Got Da Props? was an utter classic, being rotated on ughh radio stations and street corners continuously...it was definitely the set off point from which Black Moon blew up. Then, with the track "How many Mc's" (Sampling the great KRS ONE) Black moon erased any doubts that anybody had for them, as Evil Dee hits us with one of the most satisfying and admired beats yet. Now, all of the tracks on 'Enta Da Stage' are 100% consistent, meaning the album contains absolutely no fillers whatsoever! resulting in a 14 track non stop journey through the gritty streets of NY. Now, if you consider yourself to be a fan of a hiphop, and have still not heard this, then you seriously need to just cop one before anybody realises. This is HIPHOP, from a time when everything being put out was consistently brilliant and innovative, Black Moon fortunately stepped up and blessed us with this classic. If you only ever have to own 5 hiphop albums, this has to be one! Buy it now! PEACE

Bucktown's Finest,
By Terrell XXX esq. (Baltimore, MD) - See all my reviews

Classic classic classic. There is no other way to describe Black Moon's debut opus. Strictly boom bap, real hard beats and real rap. Buckshot was like John the Baptist to me when this record cameout (Nas was Jesus!). The Beatminers killed the soundscape. I don't care if they were just looped and filtered, the samples where f!@$in' incredible. Buckshot carried this record on his little a$$ back and you could almost track his lyrical maturation from the first cut to the last. "Buck Em Down" is one of the hardest records ever made. Other standout cuts include "N!&&az Talk S#it", "U Da Man" and the unf@&kwitable classic "How Many Emcees". The remixes they came out with after this album dropped were damn near better than the originals (check "Buck em Down" and "I Gotcha Opin" for proof positive)! Cop this immediately and rock it in th 0- seis like it just came out Tuesday! Real hip hop. Period.

Rap Music,

This, ladies an gentlemen, is what rap and hip-hop are about. One of the 1st 'Underground' groups to really make a big influence in rap music. All the songs are my favorite. This is one of those rare CDs that you can listen to all the way through w/o pressing 'skip track'. The rhymes are solid, the beats are groundbreaking and incredible. Production on this CD from the infamous Evil Dee is perfectly melodic and undeniably hot. If you like rap music, you should DEFINITELY buy this joint, if for nothing else but the sole purpose of adding it to your collection of great rap music. Keep in mind that this was made quite sometime ago, but i promise that you will definiteely enjoy this one.
