About the Author

Barbara Ellen Brink is a novelist, supported financially by a loving husband who just happens to have a much better paying job. Her novel, "Entangled," was selected as a finalist in the Pacific Northwest Writer's Association contest in 2006 and her novel, "Sense of Danger," was a finalist in the 2007 contest. Barbara's short stories and articles have been published in THEMA Literary Magazine, The Springhill Review, Liguorian, and others. She grew up on a small farm in Washington State, but now lives in the mean "burbs" of Minnesota with her husband and their dogs, Rugby & Willow. With her kids now pushed out of the nest and encouraged to fly, Barbara spends much time writing, motorcycling with her husband in the summer, and hiking through snow with the dogs in the winter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mystery With a Wine Chaser October 29, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am a lover of a good whodunit. "Entangled" starts out by creating a feeling of foreboding, and all the characters seem capable of something unsavory. I couldn't put the book down. I worried all the way; the edge of my seat got a bit worn! I also developed a craving for a good glass of wine along the way.

This book is full of twists and turns, and Brink is a master of creating suspense. I won't spoil the ending, but I was surprised. Put this one on your Christmas list!

3.0 out of 5 stars GOOD READ April 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Entangled is about a divorce attorney who inherits her uncle's California winery. When she goes to claim it, nightmares she thought she'd gotten over return. To find their cause, she'll need to find out the secrets hidden in the winery.

The pacing was all right, but I couldn't quite get into the story. The heroine wasn't that appealing, maybe because the characterization seemed a little off.

Still, I finished it. If it hadn't been a decent read, I wouldn't have bothered!

5.0 out of 5 stars Romance Mystery Tangled Together September 29, 2010

I just finished reading the book Entangled by Barbara E Brink. It was an exciting fun ride. The main character's personality and personal tragedy affect your heart as you learn of her unresolved issues while the mystery and romance unfold. The book is hard to put down and keeps you engaged as the pages roll by. The twists and turns will keep you guessing what will happen until the very end. The book is well worth the money and time spent. I recommend it whole-heartedly. I want to know what will happen in upcoming issues for this character, and I can't wait for the next book. Good work Barbara!

I really enjoyed reading this one. Nothing is what it seems. It was hard to put down. Plus it was at no cost to me. Deserves five stars for sure.

I found it all a bit pat and predictable. Would probably be suitable for a holiday romance to bring to the beach.

2.0 out of 5 stars predictable
While this book was slow and predictable, the worst parts were the jumpy story and especially the lack of proofreading.

This is a good read in the romantic novel genre. There are other plot lines woven into the scheme of the novel; one of them deals with child molestation.
