There is something majestic about Black Lodge, they emit a distinct sense of strength and grace in their songs.
I've heard alot of drum groups, but Black Lodge has always been in my top 5 favorites. Others must agree with me, or else you wouldn't see Black Lodge headlining some of the major Pow Wows around the country. If you're a veteran dancer or traveler of the circuit, you'll know who they are and you'll know that they are one of the best. If you're new to Pow Wow drum, this would be an excellent choice to get you started. As this album has been recorded live, you get the feel of actually being there. You can hear the MC in some songs, sometimes you'll hear the general noise of an event with hundreds or thousands of people all bustling around. It's deffinitely inspiring to listen to after going months or even years without being near an arena. I bought this CD at my first Pow Wow during one of their Intertribal songs, so maybe I'm biased. My own sentimentality aside, I am sure that if you like good drums, you will love this CD.
