5.0 out of 5 stars Wish Van Helden would do this again!, March 22, 2011
This review is from: Enter the Meat Market (Audio CD)
I knew the name Armand Van Helden from the dance scene and expected I was picking up a dance CD. I was really glad I was wrong! One thing I love even more than dance music is old school hip hop. This is a mixture of early goldern era hip hop samples and some mid-late 90s samples. If you have any appreciation for that time period, get this CD now! I had heard one track a decade ago on an underground hip hop station and remember hearing the name "SAMPLESLAYA". I had no clue it was him. Props to Armand Van Helden for this release. His best work yet. Also, makes a great background CD to freestyle to if you are into that. Just all around PURE HIP HOP.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mecca of Phat Beats, March 3, 2008
Old school beats from "back in the day". What more does the Hip Hop purest want. I have this album on wax, a DJ's friend. If you like phat beats, and old school hooks, look no further.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece!, July 13, 1999
By A Customer
When people think of Armand Van Helden they usually think house music. This album is nothing like his latest album 2future4u. All of of the songs are created purely off rap samples and most of the songs have a really unique sound to them. I would love to give an example but all of the songs are individual masterpieces. This is the sleeper of the millenium in my opinion and truly deserves a closer listening to!!!
