Poignant and touching,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Enter the Chrysanthemum (Paperback)
A large body of published work behind her, Fiona Tinwei Lam brings readers "Enter Chrysanthemum". A dedicated work of a loving single mother, her poetry brings bit of the soul of the modern woman who faces her own challenges in life. Poignant and touching, "Enter Chrysanthemum" is a top pick and something to be enjoyed by poetry readers. "Poem": Like a small padded tree, you stood/with one hand outstretched, a red-mittened beacon/The first scout whisked past. Soon, a flurry/perched on branches around us. At last,/a daring one hovered, darted to your palm/to snatch a seed, then fled./ We both breathed again./you crying out softly-/Here without seeds or words, I stand/before the fluttering world,/beckoning.
