4.0 out of 5 stars It has helped me, October 2, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Entering the Summerland: Customs and Rituals of Transition into the Afterlife (World Religion & Magick Series) (Paperback)
This book mixed with the help of The Pagan Book of Living and Dying is a helpful mix indeed ! What I especially liked about this book is the section The Pagan Book of Living and Dying missed on Pagan death issues: the death of a pet.

This book helped me in regard to the death of my best friend, Smokey.

It (and The Pagan Book of Living and Dying) helped me create a funeral ritual/rite to help Smokey's soul to go to The SummerLand.

The Summerland is everywhere: within us and around us. When a soul goes to the summerland the soul becomes one with all life. This is so it can rest and be reborn again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entering the Summerland, February 24, 2008
This review is from: Entering the Summerland: Customs and Rituals of Transition into the Afterlife (World Religion & Magick Series) (Paperback)
Every step on the Wiccan path is one to be celebrated, and that includes passing into the realm of our ancestors. In my own practice, I have taken many of Ms. McCoy's ideas and developed "passing over" rites to include at family funerals that no one in attendance realizes are Wiccan. I often find the priest or pastor standing at the head of the gravesite nodding his head in approval of what's been said or done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource, December 8, 2003

This review is from: Entering the Summerland: Customs and Rituals of Transition into the Afterlife (World Religion & Magick Series) (Paperback)
This book provides wonderful suggestions for entering the Summerland. I have found them to work very well and would highly recommend them to anyone that guides groups into such activities. When my mother passed and I had the task of creating and performing her Memorial Service for a multi denominational group. This book as well as the Pagan Book of Living and Dying were great resources in what turned out to be a wonderful ceremony.

Thank You Edain McCoy!

This is a good reference book. It is a little confusing at first, but push through and it all comes together.
