I Love this book! The direct manner in which the solutions are presented is exactly the way I think all technical books should be written; give the reader what they want without the fluff. This book is packed with so many meaningful examples that I think it belongs on the bookshelves of all serious SharePoint people. In particular, SharePoint developers will get a lot out of this book as it demonstrates what the development possibilities are in SharePoint without writing code!

This book shows you how to REALLY get things done with SharePoint, without requiring a programming background. Unlike most other books that give you either a broad overview of how to do something or shows you one small project, this goes into detail on how to construct and entire enterprise application.

I'm a pretty experienced Office and SharePoint user. I've been working with the various platforms since 2001. I was very interested in this book because it claimed to show users how to build end-to-end applications without the need for writing code. I have to say it delivers. It's a very through book that literally walks you through step-by-step of how to create an absence tracking application. In the end, the application worked! and I even learned a few things along the way. Definitely worth picking up.

This is a good book! Ira takes an effective approach to teaching you how to combine powerful features of SharePoint such as Lists, Libraries, InfoPath Eletronic Forms, Business Connectivity Services and SharePoint Designer Workflow.

Ira lives up to his promise of demonstrating enterprise applications on SharePoint without code. and along the way, you learn a valuable tip on how to combine these technologies on every page. As someone who specializes in Business Process Automation and Workflow, I use just about all the techniques he demonstrates in this book on every project I work on, and I was pleasantly surprised by just how much practical and useful advice Ira managed to fit into one book.

Reading the book, it appears to me that this author did a very sloppy job reviewing his work. I've never seen a dev book with so many mistakes just in the first few chapters. You're patience is constantly tested. So many times he tells you to do set of manipupations that you later find are totally inconsistent with the expected result he shows you in a screen capture. It's endless and very frustrating especially now knowing there's no way to get the errata for this title if it even exists... (see below for more details)

to be continued...

Recently received a copy of this book.

Tried to logon to his site to get promised downloadable content using my amazon account info but was refused login.

Then I contacted the author with my invoice and a picture of the book.

He refuses to give me access to the content claiming that "I feel I'm not obligated to support unauthorized sales of my books" because I did not buy it directly from his Amazon page instead of getting it from GoPeachtree on Amazon's Market Place!!!

Unfortunately, you'll find no where such caveat when searching for this book title on Amazon.

Where did I do wrong? I searched Amazon for a book, clicked add to cart, paid as usual! What gives???

In the end I found the author rude and not very understanding of the situation. to put it mildly...

Beware guys...
