A unique and ingenious approach to EA
I needed a book to understand what Enterprise Architecture is, why it matters, what it looks like, and how strategy is applied in practice. I am a postgraduate student of Business and Economics with a knowledge of IT and I have a few assignments around the operations, strategy and restructuring of a firm.
I found that, while the book serves my purpose to a good...

Extremely disappointing
This book does not cover EA in any form or shape. The text, diagrams and content of the book seems so shallow that it appears that the whole book was written in just one night. The whole content of this book can be accomodated in 4-5 page article, but the author/designers have filled some 50 odd pages with lausy diagrams, and double spaced - bulletted text...

Book fails to connect with the real business reasons why EA at the first place(?). This was the first book which I read about EA, because this came first to my search results on Amazon. I did read lot of other books and papers following this purchase to have my opinon about this book confirmed - Absolutely disappointing book I ever bought!

A unique and ingenious approach to EA, April 18, 2008
This review is from: An Enterprise Architecture Development Framework: The Business Case, Best Practices and Strategic Planning for Building Your Enterprise Architecture (Paperback)
I needed a book to understand what Enterprise Architecture is, why it matters, what it looks like, and how strategy is applied in practice. I am a postgraduate student of Business and Economics with a knowledge of IT and I have a few assignments around the operations, strategy and restructuring of a firm.
I found that, while the book serves my purpose to a good degree, it also touches IT, business process development and many other aspects including people and politics, all knit together in a framework. While the book does not offer a case study, reading specific chapters such as strategy, business case, frameworks, relationship to other methods reveals valuable information to students, academics, business people etc since it offers a comprehensive view of enterprise architecture. Although too complex for me, I imagine that many others would find, like myself, the information they need, integrated and explained. I would give it top marks although sometimes it looked to me that work is still in progress.

Worth your money, May 1, 2007
This review is from: An Enterprise Architecture Development Framework: The Business Case, Best Practices and Strategic Planning for Building Your Enterprise Architecture (Paperback)
It is quite compensive, which nearly cover all of the EA's area.
If you are interesting in knowing the real business case and issue
i strongly recommend you read some chapter of this book.
