Was recommended to read this book at a convention. My first thought was "Oh no, not another book on enterprise portals!". I was really taken by surprise how much useful info had been packed inside. Above all the easy-to-understand language and practical information deserve the five stars. Congratulations, Mr Kastel.

From what portals are, to integrating business systems, to putting the user in charge of the internet, to features a portal can have, getting value out of portals, an extensive review of portal vendors and applications, and more, Enterprise Portals is a solid resource and highly recommended reference which is nothing short of an absolute "must-read" for anyone newly involved in this rapidly changing and exciting business.

It is 2007 folks...just remember before you buy...this book was written almost five years ago. In this fast-paced market, it might as well have been never written at all - especially if you are trying to evaluate portal frameworks - forget it...just too old. May be useful (to some) for thumbing through for historical perspectives and some general knowledge (terminology etc). In any case, not a technical book at all.
