Excellent book,
By Chris Riffle (Bradford, OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Entertaining Spirits Unaware (Paperback)
I found the book to be biblical and helpful in understanding the infiltration of the occult in our popular culture, although I am sure it will ruffle some feathers. Rooted soundly in scripture, the authors avoid the trap of fanaticism and superstition. Today's common practices are soundly linked to the 9 forbidden practices of the Old Testiment. Obviously, if you are not a Christian, if you do not accept the authority of scripture, including the existence of Satan and evil spirits, you will find this book to be far fetched. For those who are Christian, this book will enlighten you to the ways Satan uses to sneak his dogma and influence into our lives. This is an especially valuable resource for parents or those involved in ministry to children.

This is a "Must Read" Book!,
By Bart Spencer (Garland, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Entertaining Spirits Unaware (Paperback)
The book Entertaining Spirits Unaware is a "must read" for anyone desiring to understand the world of the occult from a biblical perspective. It is well researched, thoroughly documented and easy to read.Benoit and Barger have obvious knowledge of the subject and have taken what appear to be great pains to in laying out their case in a masterful way. In a world that has so easily accepted occultism in so many so called "harmless" forms we need more books such as this. Although controversial in the eyes of the uninformed and a lightning rod to those who favor the occult and mystic philosophies around us, the book and the insight and the documentation it offers speaks for itself. Since Harry Potter and Pokemon have gained such great acceptability today, we need men like this to make us think twice. Concerned parents should have a copy of this book as a first line of defense for the endless onslaught of occultism being endorsed in today's entertainment. It is obvious that the issues they discuss has made Benoit and Barger lightning rods attracting the disdain of many for their blunt rejection of the occult. This no doubt is front-line spiritual warfare. When one reads the negative reviews here in Amazon it becomes quickly obvious that those disfavoring Entertaining Spirits Unaware do so due from their misunderstanding of the issue and have probably never read the book in the first place. In one case it is most likely due to their own personal occult involvement. Just read the "Wish Lists" of those individuals to get a clear perspective. But certainly don't let that stop you from getting this book. You will refer to it repeatedly as we have in our home.

This has got to be the best, straightforward book out there about the dangers of the occult lurking in our own homes. It is amazing how easily this stuff is slipped under our doors. Thanks to this book the proliferation of the occult has become readily obvious. Just take a browse through the toy store. You will be shocked at the shear volume of 'childrens toys' that are related to the occult and witchcraft these days. Though this book cannot list every occurence of such, it will open your eyes to the reality of occultic existance that floods our society. We must open our eyes and stop compromising every issue. As a nation we have reached the point of 'calling evil good and good evil'. Thank God for men like Eric and David who will stand up and proclaim the Gospel. Bravo Misters Barger, and Benoit.
