I have lots of cookbooks, but this is the one I use when I'm having a party and can't risk a disaster. The recipes are delicious and fairly simple. I compared two recipes for one dish --- the Lora Brody style to the Martha Stewart version; Lora's took half the time and tasted great! I get lots of compliments with this food, and I appreciate the necessary advice that most entertaining oriented books unforgivably neglect to provide: how far ahead can you make the dish, can it be frozen, how to reheat.

I have had this book for three years...I have loaned it to all my friends. The recipes are simple, and come out perfect every time. I love how she tells you what you can do ahead or freeze. This is great for entertaining! Every recipe I have tried in this book has been foolproof. I hope Lora writes another one similar to this.

Great tips for do-ahead preparation so you can enjoy the company of your guests instead of being stuck in the kitchen.

This is my favorite cookbook; and I have many. At least one of these recipes is included at each holiday dinner and dinner party that I have. My guests frequently ask for copies of those recipes too. The pre-planned menus are helpful to figure out good combinations. The recipes are quick and easy. I recommend this cookbook to all of my friends.

I came across this book at my son's batchelor pad. As a seasoned housewife I thought there would be little I could learn from it - WRONG!!!! It is packed full of very useful tips, recipies, and meal plans. A great engagement, housewarming, or retirement gift.

I was amazed at the amount of practical information in this book! From planning a party, to cleaning up, even how to fix potential host disasters, this book is a "cookbook" on how to entertain for the "entertainingly challenged". I'm giving this to all my younger relations who are just starting out on their own, and I'm keeping a copy for myself! A must for everyone who has ever wanted to know how to plan and carryout any kind of social gathering. It even covers awkward social situations like condolance calls.
