4.0 out of 5 stars If you haven't, purchase now!!
Upon the first couple listens, I found myself to be a little disappointed by the third outing by the marvelous band known as Fischerspooner. It's not that I didn't like the album, it just didn't grab me like #1 or odyssey. Now a week later after purchasing Entertainment, I have found that I can't get enough of this album. What I like about this group is that each album...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not What I Expected
#1 was okay, Odyssey was a masterpiece, so I expected Entertainment to continue the trend and blow my socks off. I was disappointed. Entertainment is more like #1. It sounds contrived and does not flow well. It sounds like they had a contractual obligation to make a third album so they threw some things together from the stage show and put out this album.

What I like about this group is that each album takes on its own identity, and very rarely immitates previous efforts. Bottom line this is another solid release, if it doesn't grab you right away, give it time and I'm sure you will fall in love with this album just like I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it! Totally worth the wait!, May 7, 2009

Great 3rd album from Fischerspooner, I've had this spinning in my car ever since I got a hold of it and its right up there with the first two albums. Nice new electro sound, a perfect balance of what you expect and what you don't.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best album out this year so far, May 17, 2009
This review is from: Entertainment (Audio CD)
This is the album Depeche Mode should have wrote; It is absolutely brilliant! The music and the lyrics are both very well crafted. I'm not giving it 5 stars because the last two tracks are a little weaker than the rest of the album but overall an amazing release.

Great album. Fischerspooner have definitely evolved their songwriting since #1 - and this album shows. A solid album full of deliciously synth-heavy electro-pop. There's more solid hooks and wonderfully crafted melodies. Casey Spooner has got a perfect voice for a new wave band - he gives it soul.
I love how this band sounds like they came right out of the mid 1980's, yet with a fresher, more up to date sound. So far, this has got to be my favorite Fischerspooner album - they've stepped into their own as a band and are now running ahead of the pack.
Recommended especially if you like Depeche Mode's latest offering (Sounds Of The Universe).

4.0 out of 5 stars Different, In a Great Way!, October 7, 2009

Fischerspooner is one of the few bands I listen to in this genre. I fell in love with them when I heard "Odyssey" and the romance continued when I got my hands on "#1". I can just listen to these guys for hours. Their music relaxes me and it's a nice break from metal, which is what I normally listen to. With that said I went into "Entertainment" expecting more "Odyssey". This was a bad idea though. I hadn't yet figured it out yet but on each album this band tries something different. This is like a combo of their two previous albums. It works very well. On the first listen I honestly disliked it and I thought the band was done but I always give music three tries. After that I was sold and all in all I love this album. There's so many awesome songs I don't know where to even begin. I love "Infidels Of The World Unite" and "Amuse Bouche". The only song I don't really care for is "Danse En France" but that's probably because I like the D.M.I. remix better.

I highly recommend this CD to anyone who likes the band or is interested in them. It's not as good as "Odyssey" but it's close, very close.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! Entertained Indeed., September 3, 2009

I had absolutley no idea who Fischerspooner was before i bought this album. i stumbled upon it on amazon and the reason that i bought it was because i was so captivated by the creative cover art. The only other time that i had ever done that was with Madonna's Confession On A Dancefloor, So you could see that that's not how i typically purchase my music.

I'm so glad that i bought it, it took me a while for me to truly appriciate it, but i'm not disapointed, the songs are incredibly dark, sexual, but catchy. they also deal with politics and stuff of that matter on a couple of songs, but they make it fun, intresting and avengeful. I absolutley love this album and have it on complete repeat.

Absolute Standout Tracks include the sexually charged "Supply & Demand", "Money Can't Dance", "Door Train Home", "Amuse Bouche", and my personal absolute favorite "Danse En France"; a hypnotic euro-trance song that sort of takes you on this trippy ride you don't want to get off. I'm sure you could better appriciate it if you can speak a little French, but you don't have to in order to be fascinated by the addictive narcotic beat and tempo of the song. It's the definate highlight of the album and the reason that i give it a full 10/10 rating!

Don't miss "Entertainment"! if you like Björk, there is no reason why you shouldn't check them out because they too are out of this world!
