Great book for arena rigging. Harry lays out the basics of wire rope, terminations, breaking strengths, safety factors, load distribution, calculating tensions, bridle lengths, etc. Math drives a large part of this (as it should), but great pains have been made to keep it strictly algebra. It's also very practical, with an emphasis on getting your points in accurately, quickly and most importantly, safely.

If you do this kind of work the price is more than worth it.

I took the class with Harry. His book is a must have for any rigger, or theatre or space that you would need to rig a point in. I can't say to much for this book, I know it is a little pricy but well worth the money.

Harry Donovan is no longer with us but his book is a testament to his greatness as a show rigger; the safest in the industry and this book reveals in detail exactly how, why, when, where, and with whom of the rigging process. This is not a movie riggers guide but it can give you the basics for all safe rigging. It is worth it at twice the cost.
