small great flute,

This review is from: Entertainments for a small flute (Audio CD)
Music for small flute. Collecting a traditionally neglected repertory, with a traditionally neglected instrument. In fact, the recorder in d or sixth flute was the real `flauto piccolo' of the baroque era. In the xx century the words `flauto piccolo' where misinterpreted as `sopranino recorder' small flute in f, rarely used back then. This cd non only retrieves an instrument, but also the distinctive environment of musical entertainments in late baroque London opera. The interpretation technical an musically speaking is superb, and the choice of repertory is original and full of taste. This is one of the very few important recorder cd of the xxi century.
