Fallon's book was one of the first volumes I read when beginning my study of early Christianity. His exploration of gnostic mythology and its relationship with Jewish mysticism demonstrated the complexity of pinpointing the origin and influence of this important religious stream. I was saddened to discover that it is now out of print and difficult to acquire.
