Songs 1-6 are going to knock your socks off! Wish I understood portuguese better but I have a ways to go in my studies. Nonetheless one does not need to speak this brazilian portuguese to love Fernanda Abreu's beat. I am a newcomer to the music of Brasil but I know what I like. Daniela Mercury was my first love but she will have to make room so that Fernanda can sit down beside her. Song 6 ZonaNorte-ZonaSul will bring you back to the 70's discos of yore! My brasilian friend, Juliana told me her music is considered brazilian funk. A review of another fan said it was a funk-samba. Speaking from a Norte-Americano's point of view I would consider it to be a funky-rap. Not "gansta-rap" but good rap along the lines of L.L. Cool J. or Aaliyah. If you like to dance to what I like to consider as "dance music" you are going fall in love with Fernanda Abreu! I intend to buy all of this lady's music and I intend to buy it as fast as I can...

This album by '80s Brazilian rocker-gone-hippopper was released in the year 2000 and is a disappointing follow-up to the more intriguing "Raio X," from 1997. Slick but uninspiring hip-hop flavored rock'n'pop, with occasional stylistic dips in regional Brazilian music. Professionally produced, with a very big, brash sound, but not much subtlety or depth.

Her last album is not the best. I guess she lost some creativity from Raio X but still it's a cool CD.
