SYNOPSIS,

This review is from: Entranced (The Donovan Legacy) (Paperback)
A baby has been stolen and it was her job to find it-but private investigator Mel Sutherland had run out of leads. She could hardly blame the child's desperate mother for seeking the help of psychic Sebastion Donovan. Though Mel preferred to work alone, she was going to keep an eye on this sexy seer-she didn't trust him one bit! Sebastion knew practical minded Mary Ellen didn't believe in psychics or witches-she just plain had a bad attitude. She also had a pair of legs a man would die for. He had no choice but to help her find the child. For Mary Ellan was his destiny...

My favorite of the Three,

Meet Sebastian. Very good looking, Very rich, and a witch. His gift is "seeing" and he uses his special talents to aid the police in gruesome investigations, sometimes to the point of exhaustion. Meet Mary Ellen, great legs, tough woman, and a cynic. The catalyst at a stolen baby and a large network that can get a child from one coast to the other without detection. Putting these two strong willed people together is like mixing fire and kerosene, something is bound to explode, and they do.
Sebatian's meets his match when he runs into this firey woman with the sharp mind and great legs, who likes to do things her own way. But in the end she does find a need for Sebatian's gift Of the Four Donavan books, this is my favorite. I've run into many a Sebatian like men in my time and reading about one being set in his place is a fun read. It's an enjoyable read in front of a fire on a cold winters afternoon. Blessed Be.

This was a reread for me and I enjoyed it. This is the second book in the 4 book series on the Donovan Legacy. The Donovan's are a family of witches. Each has a power that stands out. This is cousin Sebastians's story. His gift is that of sight. He is psychic.
Mary Ellen Sutherland (Mel) is a private detective who reluctantly joins her friend Rose on a trip to the local psychic's house when Rose's son David is kidnapped. She doesn't believe in anything witch related including psychics. But as Sebastian gived her more and more clues. She has to follow them for the sake of David. They embark on a journey as an undercover married couple trying to break up a kidnapping/selling baby ring. An enjoyable read. Those of you who enjoy JD Robb/In Death series by Nora my recognize some similar trates between Mary Ellen and Eve.

Fair Enough,
By Queenie (Illinois, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Entranced (The Donovan Legacy) (Mass Market Paperback)
Well...the story was good, the plot was great. Mary Ellen (Mel) Sutherland is a private investigator and Sebestian Donovan is a person with visions and helps out with the police. But when Mel's friend Rose's baby has been stolen the two got together and worked. The story is the second book in the Donovan series. I have to say that I liked the first book a lot better than the second one. In the first one, the couple showed a lot more passion and love. But in this one, they only made love and kissed a lot. You can't really tap into the herine's head and see how the love is confusing her and things like that. And to top it off the heronie and the hero stayed on last name basis through the entire book! All the way to the last page of the story, they still call each other "Sutherland" and "Donovan" But what I found ridicous was that Roberts didn't really say what Sebastian did for a living from becoming rich! It says that soemtimes he helps the police, but that's sometimes! And he doesn't like to get paid for it. So when I was reading, as described in the book the hero is rich! He has his own mountain and house and a cliff! But I was thinking..."Where did he get the money for it?!" But to top it off. The book was fair, thin and good enough. It's good for a short summer read. So I have to rate this Nora Roberts "Entranced: The Donovan Legacy" with a 70% and 3 stars!

ENTRANCED, 2nd in the series, Morganna's cousin Sebastian Donvan is approached to use his well-known psychic abilities to find a missing child. However, PI Mary Ellen Sutherland isn't about to let her friend be used by a fraud, much less get her hopes up about the missing child. Reluctantly Mary Ellen pairs up with Sebastian to combine their knowledge to rescue the child, and begrudgingly comes to believe that Sebastian's abilities, as well as the man himself, are extraordinary.

Okay read.,

I read this one because the reviews were good and I had already read he first and third book of the series. I have to say, this one just didn't do it for me. It was okay, but a bit a a waste. Sebastian lacked the personalitly and wit he had in the first and third one- The third(with Anastasia & Boone) is the best one I have read so far of the four.

Loved this book and liked how it tied in the other characters from the two other books in this series- clever. Hard to put down! It was a pleasant and beautiful story with the paranormal mixed in to make it more interesting.

While Ms. Roberts' books will never keep you spell-bound, the paranormal ones are extremely entertaining. I don't particularly care for just the romantic ones but these will keep your attention.

One of the above comments was that you never knew how Sabastian was rich. It did mention that he was an invester and owner of several businesses that he paid other people to run for him. He just became rich from the profits for them.Anyway, I really liked the book. I thought Sebastian was mysterious and very likable. I thought the two characters fit well together. I recommend the book. |
