Simple installation is the selling point of this converter, with no need to open the computer or install an add-in card. It works with current Windows printer drivers and updated Mac drivers available for download from the printer manufacturer. The LED light indicates power and data transfer at once. The converter is bus powered, with no need for a cumbersome power supply, and the detachable cable allows a connection of up to 16.6 feet, while others are restricted to 6 feet. Also included are a 6-foot Entrega USB cable with gold contacts and a 3.5-inch diskette with USB-to-serial drivers.

Check compatibility before you buy,

While this is a great idea, it is not compatible with as many printers as I was lead to believe. The Entrega website only listed 2 Lexmark printers that were incompatible. When I receieved the product 4 more Lexmarks joined that list. Now I can add mine to the list as well. If you have a Lexmark 2030, 2050, 2070, 6000, or 7000, this converter will not work. With most other models you must disable the bi-directional communication feature of the printer, which is a valuable feature.I would suggest contacting your specific printer company before purchasing a device such as this.

WOW what a idea! It has made the problem of using my computer (that doesnt have a USB Port) much easier. Now I can pretty much buy anything i want now to use on my computer.
