Book Description

November 7, 2008
This book is an entrepreneurial feasibility examination exercise divided into two essential parts. The first part is directed toward the decision to become an entrepreneur including numerous case studies, followed by a personality self-assessment chapter to determine whether the aspiring entrepreneur has the "right stuff" to commit to such a rigorous journey. The second part of the book is devoted to building the aspiring entrepreneur's "body of knowledge" on such subjects as venture selection, logistics, business plan preparation and its related counterpart-the vital presentation, capital formation, securities compliance and exit strategy.
The author maintains "The reader should finish his book with the knowledge and confidence to pursue an entrepreneurial career journey or the wisdom to chose a different path."

About the Author

Your author spent 35 years of "On-The-Job" experience gathering, divided into three separate segments of his career. He started three companies, one of which he took public, from a literal vision to reality on a "shoestring (bootstrap)" budget. He joined corporate America working for fortune 500 financial institutions as an asset based lender to financially troubled companies as a regional Vice-President, including opening or supporting offices from the mid-west to the east coast. Throughout his career he served as an adjunct professor for two major universities developing curriculum to expand his signature course in entrepreneurship and pioneered online distance learning.

More About the Author

Greetings aspiring entrepreneurs! I respectfully suggest that you read my book, just recently released, titled "Entrepreneurial Decision Making" consisting of eleven chapters covering personality profiles, case studies and everything from the decision making process through venture selection, business plan preperation and presentation, capital formation, public offerings and exit strategies.
I developed and taught this curriculum in Entrepreneurship for St. Thomas University (St. Paul, MN), over the ten years I spent there as an adjunct professor commensurate with my day job as the CEO of a company I founded and subsequently took public. I also authored and taught the same curriculum for the University of Santa Clara for five years while teaching online for the University of California/Berkeley/Extension back in 1995 when most university Presidents/Deans thought this medium to be tantamount to academic treason; subsequently, I developed my own online teaching website (www.newventurecoach.org)as a new medium to enhance the content of the book and provide additional vital information and consulting to you.
I wrote the book and established my website to encourage the aspiring entrepreneur to pursue their dream or to prevent that dream from turning into a nightmare, which unfortunately so often happens and happened to me. My entrepreneurial journey is filled with mis-steps, errors, mis-calculations and bad luck; however, I am a firm believer in a Japanesse proverb referenced in my book "Knocked-down Eight Times Get Up-Nine" or another proverb "A Journey of A Thousand Miles Begins With the First Step" and last "It is better to have tried and fail than not to have tried at all."
My own proverb is "Experienced is the best teacher so share it," which unfortunately is not often the case when it comes to self-ordained authors writing on subjects which they never actually experienced. No one knows the horror of wars better than the warrior who was in the battle and perhaps even bloodied; conversely all the advice on entrepreneurship written by well intentioned authors does not hold a candle to the author/entrepreneur, who knows what it is like to offer their home as additional collateral to borrow money to meet a payroll or take advantage of special pricing on an opportunity to grow their business.
I have not been bloodied in a war, thank God, though I am a veteran; however,if medals were to be given-out for bloodied board room, investor and stockholder battles-I would have a "chest full." I have walked the walk and can talk the talk on the subject of entrepreneuring from A to Zet and hope you will benefit from my experiences and advice.
Please do not hesitate to contact me either through my website and/or my email address(newventurecoach@aol.com).

This review is from: Entrepreneurial Decision Making (Paperback)
Before you start a business or even if you are well on your way, this book will save you a number of heart- and head-aches! I founded JIAN Software and developed the BizPlanBuilder Business Plan Software and I know first-hand from talking with many customers what they've been through. Ron's book will help you immensely. It's an easy read and full of memorable anecdotes. Author, Business Black Belt.
