If you have an idea you’d like to realize or want to create a fan base for your business venture, then this book is written just for you. The steps, which I discuss in this book, will guide you in finding your voice in the marketplace. It was Peter Drucker who said, “Because the purpose of business is to create a customer, the business enterprise has two–and only two–basic functions: marketing and innovation. Marketing and innovation produce results; all the rest are costs. Marketing is the distinguishing, unique function of the business.” This book demonstrates how students can operationalize on this quote. I have outlined four steps to creating a customer base, constituting what I call the 4 E's of Entrepreneurial Marketing; namely: (1) idea Exploration, (2) idea Examination, (3) opportunity Exploitation, and (4) opportunity Expansion. Without beating about the bush, let's jump right into the first step of creating a customer base.

More About the Author

John Kalu Osiri, founder of Unleash Group and creator of the Unleash concepts, is an international educator, author, entrepreneur, speaker and mentor of excellent students. He is a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship and International Business at Washington State University, located in Pullman, Washington, USA. His research is concerned with product development and commercialization of innovation. After living through many hardships in West Africa, he was determined to change his situation, so he took three part-time jobs in order to pay his tuition in college. At one job, he did dishes at a restaurant and quickly rose in the ranks to become the chief dishwasher. At the second and third jobs, he washed cars and stocked the shelves at a grocer at night, respectively. He went on to earn a Baccalaureate degree in Chemistry from Grambling State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Bio-Analytical Chemistry (with an emphasis on biotechnological research) from Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge. His Post-Doctorate in Entrepreneurship and International Business was completed at The University of Florida-Gainesville. Osiri's passion is building businesses and assisting struggling communities, and his calling is helping students realize their dreams.
