5.0 out of 5 stars From a entrepreneur, May 16, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Entrepreneurship for the Nineties (Paperback)
I started (and sold) my own company. In the period of two years (2000 to 2002), I have lived in my own flesh every single case described by Baty: the tail of the Dot.com boom, the U.S. recession, going from hiring frenzy to hiring freeze and redundancies, stressful negotiations with VC's ...

Every single book written about entrepreneurs after the second half of the 90's is biased by the dot.com bubble. This one is the only which mentions the recession of the 70's (and how to survive it).

If you are serious about starting a company: buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ FOR BUDDING ENTREPRENEURS, August 5, 2000
This review is from: Entrepreneurship for the Nineties (Paperback)
Gordon Baty knows business -- what it takes to start one and how to nurture it along. This book is chock full of practical advice; each chapter has a list of tips relating to the subject of the chapter. Not only does Baty make the nuts and bolts of business completely understandable, he also presents the idea of building a business as fun and exciting without minimizing the hard work involved. If you are thinking of starting a business, or are operating one, this book will teach you a lot.
