The good:

- It worked at least two months after the last one failed.

- The heavy duty black ABS plastic is a wonderful recycling product.

Don't waste your hard earned money on these units. One of them is outside as I write, spurting micro-jets of water. One yesterday, two today. Failure, again, is imminent. Spend a little more money and buy a 3/4 inch bronze backflow preventer from a restaurant supply or RV sales location.

If you investigate further you may find these are not designed for 24/7 operation, only intermittent operation. There seems to be some faulty logic in that assumption, but it's a great excuse for unit failure.

It works. It was cheap and easy to install. It works perfectly. I installed it at the discharge port of a small utility pump. I would buy again.

I bought this item without careful attention to the description. I wanted it to prevent the hose drain-back on a small water pump. While the water is prevented from flowing back into the pump, it just dumps it outside the pump - which doesn't help me at all. The item costs less than the shipping, so returning it would cost me even more. It doesn't "prevent" backflow; it just prevents it from backflowing into the source. Beware of misleading product names.
