From the Back Cover
The Environmental Showcase Home demonstrates how principles of sustainability can be applied to new home construction. Built by Arizona Public Service Company, Arizona's largest public utility, to provide home buyers and homebuilders with resource-efficient design and product ideas, the home takes its place in the current movement of "green homes" in the United States and Canada.
This book looks at the Environmental Showcase Home and its relationship to regional environmental homebuilding in the Southwest. Each chapter is illustrated with graphs and tables. Full-color photographs taken during the home's construction show important resource-efficient features that were designed for the home by the architects of Jones Studio, Inc., of Phoenix. An appendix lists all materials and products in the home and explains their environmental benefits.
