5.0 out of 5 stars Great Reference for Beginners
This book covers the basics for modeling most aspects of the environment. Atmospheric modeling was absent, then again that is for more advanced students. This book is good for upper-level undergraduate students who wish to begin their own research and need a good beginning point. It explains different modeling types adequately, however does not delve into statistics...

This is not a lite reading book. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Reference for Beginners, October 29, 2011
This review is from: Environmental Modelling with GIS and Remote Sensing (Geographic Information Systems Workshop) (Paperback)
This book covers the basics for modeling most aspects of the environment. Atmospheric modeling was absent, then again that is for more advanced students. This book is good for upper-level undergraduate students who wish to begin their own research and need a good beginning point. It explains different modeling types adequately, however does not delve into statistics (with the exception of Chapter 9, Hydrological Modeling, and it gives the basic equations found in most Hydrology texts. An excellent reference for beginning independent modelers.
