5.0 out of 5 stars Great textbook
I purchased this book a few months ago, as a means of self studying for the AP Environmental Science exam. So far, this book has proved to be excellent in successfully learning the material, and emphasizes the everlasting dispute between science and values. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad or horrible, could of been better.
The book had scratches on the cover due to packaging according to seller. I thought shipping would of been faster, but at least I didn't wait the max time slated. As well, some pages were crinkled when first open, suppose to be brand new. Other then that, pretty good seller and book seems to be okay.

This review is from: Environmental Science: Earth as a Living Planet (Hardcover)
I purchased this book a few months ago, as a means of self studying for the AP Environmental Science exam. So far, this book has proved to be excellent in successfully learning the material, and emphasizes the everlasting dispute between science and values. I initially wanted to only take this test for some easy college credit; however, Environmental Science has now become a very interesting subject for me thanks to this amazing book. Through great pictures and maps, the reader can more thoroughly comprehend the material. I definately give this book 5 stars, as it is greatly written and has made me far more interested in the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Science is awesome, October 7, 2008

I am using this book for a class in college and it is extremely informative so far (after reading about 6 of the chapters), has many ways to look at the information and issues surrounding it, and also maintains the central theme that is key in environmental science: the relationship between science and values.

I really like it and will be keeping the book instead of selling it off to someone else.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good overview of environmental science, August 27, 2001

I took a class which used this textbook at the University of California, Santa Barbara, which was co-taught by one of the authors, Ed Keller. This is an introductory book that provides a decent overview of the problems we are currently facing in regard to the environment, what we can do to solve those problems, and other opportunities that our environment can give us.

This was a great purchase. The book came in a very short amount of time and was in great condition. Much cheaper than buying it through the University Book Store!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect. Exactly as promised, June 2, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Perfect as promised. Arrived quickly. One item of note, it doesn't seem to come with the wileyplus online registration information for access to the additional learning material. The e-book (~$60) purchase would be one option for getting to that material.

Still a great product and a great price. I need it for two classes,so I'm thrilled about the price.
