Product Description

At Consumer Health Research, Inc we know that fruits and vegetables are essential to a healthy diet. Pesticides, waxes and chemicals used in crop production are designed to resist insects and rain, making these contaminants difficult to remove with water. Even organic produce is subject to drift spraying and could contain harmful residues. Award-winning Environné Fruit & Vegetable Wash was formulated to remove chemical residues and has been proven in independent laboratory tests to safely remove surface pesticides, waxes, and oils. Environné Fruit and Vegetable Wash rinses produce clean with no aftertaste, so you and your family can eat healthy, the way nature intended.

Have been using Environne for quite a while. Been purchasing it from Trader Joe's, but they have discontinued it at our local store in Roseville. This product is soooooo good and easy to use. Just a little goes a long way. For grapes, lettuce etc. when washing, just put a little in the water and swish around, rinse and ready to cook/serve. For fruit such as apples, pears, etc. just put a little in your hand and rub then rinse. It sure takes a lot off of your mind to know that your veg/fruits are clean of any bugs, spray etc.

Was so pleased that Amazon now has it, and the price is GREAT!!!

Like the last review, we also bought "Veggie wash" at Trader Joe's, and i think they've cut it off in all stores. it's true that the bottles in TJ's would often be dusty from sitting so long, so i do understand, but the problem was with the BUYERS, not the product. it's great, and i know we feel much better every time we use it. We still have the spray bottle from TJ's, and we will pour this in there, dilute it with water (about 3:1, though I'm sure the directions allow much more), and spray it from there.

I don't know about the foaming veggie wash, but i would like to hear from someone who has tried both. i am certain that you can't go wrong with this. Like someone said on the foaming review, you'll be shocked with the amount of dirt/grunge that comes off of fruits and veggies you wash with this. water just won't do it, plus, when you read the ingredients of the veggie wash here you won't be concerned- they are just light natural surfactants (soapy oil-breakers), and you don't need to feel bad about anything in there. We've used it for over five years and we won't go a day without it. We keep it by the sink and use it as a spray and wash for our hands as well.

Many people are beginning to realize the importance of washing fruits and vegetables before consumption. I eat a lot of apples, and ever since I've started using Environne, I almost feel as though I can't eat my fruit without giving it a thorough treatment with this stuff first. Apples are one of the most heavily-sprayed foods in agriculture because of the amount of pests that can infest and destroy large commercial crops. Also, the non-organic fruit you see in stores that is nice and shiny has been coated with a petroleum-based wax which is not water-soluble, meaning a simple rinse under the tap won't suffice, and you certainly don't want to be using hand or dish soap on your produce, do you? Applying one or two drops (you don't need very much; this stuff is concentrated) and rubbing it around the outside of my apples before I eat them removes much of the pesticide residues and waxes, and actually allows more of the fruit taste to shine through.

Environne works great for washing bulk fruits and vegetables. I fill a bowl full of water and squeeze in a tablespoon of the solution per the instructions on the bottle. Just to give you an inkling of how effective this stuff is, I bought a 2-lb bag of conventional (read: non organic) honeycrisp apples and washed them with an application of Environne. When I poured the water out of the bowl, I couldn't believe how dull it appeared! Environne rinses right off and, as other reviewers have stated, doesn't leave a taste behind. The good thing about Environne is that it is formulated from naturally-sourced ingredients (sorbitol from berries, for example), so I can feel safe about applying it liberally if need be. If you are like myself and are becoming more conscious as to what you are eating, picking up a bottle of this solution will be one of the best additions to your kitchen you can possibly make.

Although it will likely take 6 years to go through this pack of 6 (even after I gave 2 away), I really love this product. I feel that it washes off the pesticides and even though I can't verify it, I feel better. I'm just glad I found it on Amazon rather than having to trek to the store and buying it one bottle at a time.

Found this at our local store in KCMO for $3.99. Some stores still seem to be carrying it. Hopefully they'll bring it back nationwide soon.

Also - if you're debating whether or not it's worth the money to purchase this product, consider this: The Environmental Protection Agency considers 60% of all herbicides, 90% of all fungicides, and 30% of all insecticides to be potentially cancer-causing, and 77% of non-organic foods have been found to be contaminated with one or more of the above.

We are using this product to rinse even organic foods, as 25% of them still carry some level of pesticides (through pollution from nearby chemical farms).

One note - this product is very good at removing oils - from both produce and your hands! I would recommend wearing kitchen gloves every time you use it. Overall it is a wonderful product and we are thankful to be able to buy it at a good price.

First time using any veggie wash after my mother's friend recommended. I was skeptical at first. I thought it was enough to rinse under a running tap or soak in a clean sink, but now after using this wash, I can see "and feel" and more importantly -- taste the difference. I tried a comparison experiment, rinsing veggies first, examining the water, THEN rinsing again with the wash...it was clear to me the wash found more dirt. Yuck I was eating that much crud before?! Yikes! Small downside: The wash comes out of the bottle fast, so I transferred to a spray bottle. A little goes a long way. Upside: Real taste of fruits and veggies! And way clean! I am really a convert now to a veggie cleanser.
