Brilliant compostions, arrangements and a virtuoso performnces, December 14, 2006

Envisage one of those very special recordings that I find myself playing over and over again. The innovative, creative rendering of these jazz classics is delightful in every way. Jay D'amico is a brilliant composer, arranger, and pianist with flawless style and an aliveness and passion in his playing that makes this CD a delight to listen to. It is fourtunate that it is available on CD, as it would have been worn out long ago on my phonograph. The CD is extremely well recorded and mixed, so those of you with higher end stereo systems will delight with the clear, spacious sound. Don't miss this one - with Milt Hinton on bass and Bobby Rosengarten on drums, it is a classic recording and virtuoso performance. Every track on this CD is clear winner. Check out their fresh and innovative rendition of Autumn Leaves, a song that has been recorded to death but has been given new life. I cannot recommend this CD highly enough.
