This little television is amazing considering that the old hand held analogue tv's are now obsolete. The unit is great for traveling because it is more compact than any previous portable dvd player i owned, and although tv reception varies depending on one's location, channels can normally be picked up by adjusting the provided digital antennae. Considering that a built-in rechargeable battery, car adapter, and digital antennae are included with the package, this is a great deal for the sale price.

UPDATE:
DVD portion of the unit froze and broke after only several uses. Contacted customer service via e-mail and they shipped out another one within a week of receiving the defective unit. I tried it one time and so far it still works. Tv part of the unit continues to work fine, but we'll see if the dvd player holds up. Can't complain about costumer service as they were pretty effective via the e-mail.

I bought the envizen ED8858 as a replacement for a portable dvd player. It was more than I expected as it came with a Tv and built in digital tuner. Reception is very good and the color is fantastic. It also has a slot for sd card and USB. With the built in battery, you can take this anywhere. The only problem I have with it is that you cannot watch tv while driving as the digital channel keeps fading in and out. all in all, it's the best portable tv and dvd player I have ever seen and it's very portable. About the size of a 7'' notebook and very light. battery power is very good and I use the car adaptor when watching tv in my car during lunch break at work. I wish it had a retractable antenna rather than the external antenna that came with the product. For the price, you cannot ask for more. People are amazed at the color and reception not to mention the electronic program guide.
I will highly recommend this product.

This is a great mini HD TV. Excellent price. Dvd player works great, but not blu-ray. Has an SD memory card slot so you can put any type of movie or tv show on the card and watch it, works great with bit torrent files like avi files. Can also use the adaptor provided and hook up your flash memory stick and watch your movies that way also. TV picture quality is great it is High Def. You also get the title of what show is currently on and what a schedule of what programs are comming on in the future, like a cable box does. You get the normal tv channel, along with the additional HD channels like channel 4.2 and 4.3 etc......TV antenna gets a few major network channels for me, depends on the area. I am in Los angeles and only get channel 2, 4, 4.2 and 5 and 5.2. I tried a couple antennas from best buy and got only the same channels as the antenna provided, i am going to try an amplified antenna next. I hooked up my xbox 360 and wii to it and works great, screen is small but it is nice. The remote control is a bit cheap but gets the job done. Speakers are great, i also hook my ipod up to it and play my music through the speakers. Case is nice, can also be attached to the head restto watch in the backseats of the car for the kids. Comes with a standard power adaptor, also comes with a Remote battery pack that has a strange design, it suction cups to the unit, odd design but works ok. Overall this TV is awsome for the price, i use it at the office and is perfect for my needs.

Envizen Digital ED8850A. Looking for a portable, handheld TV, this looked like a good choice with a DVD player included. To get tv reception, you MUST plug in an antenna.The little one that came with the unit has a very limited range, so I bought an antenna from Radio Shack for about $25.00. Unit works well when connected to an antenna, but the antenna that makes it work is larger than the unit. Not really very portable. Perhaps the "Built-in Tuner" advertising made me think "built-in antenna". Great as a portable DVD player. Disappointing as a portable TV.

1st- I really liked this product until I tried the DVD player. The DVD would play for about 20 minutes then would freeze up. I tried many different DVD's. So I am returning it. NOTE: The return went well... Amazon gave me $$$ back and I didnt have to pay any return shipping.
2nd- Purchased another one from BuyDotCom and had the same 20 minute DVD lockup issue. Contacted tech support; they sent me a patch to install. Now it doesnt lock up but it studders - temporarily freezes and then continues about every 2-6 minutes (annoying). Envizen Tech customer service is helpful, they are sending me another one.
3rd- Envizen customer service (Pamela) has worked with me faithfully through this. I have my third unit and it is defective as well.
4th: So I got my fourth one. Customer service (Pamela) was very helpful in getting me replacements and this one worked properly. I really like this TV\DVD player. It looks good and playes good. She made sure I was taken care of. I have raised my review from 1 to 4.
Final UPDATE: I like the little TV so much I ordered another one for my wife. We now have two and are very happy with them.
I would not have purchased the second one if it were not for the great customer service I got. Pamela rocks...

OK, first off this was a great deal, Its a portable TV/DVD/Media Card Reader/USB Thumb Drive Reader, all in One, the fact that this little ditty can do so many things for just north of $100 is amazing too me. But let me tell you it all happened only after I had to return the first one, I got from the Deal Barn, first it took about 1 week and half to get to me, felt like 3 dont know why... When i finally got the product, first thing how does the tv work, looks great, picked up plenty of channels, screen and unit came clean only that the top of my unit had finger prints and looked scratched, ok i know this wasnt new or at least had been returned because the darn thing would not play any blank branded dvd's... It played all the store bought or rented dvd's just fine, but i do have a collection of burnt ones as well and it wouldnt play all 5 brands of discs i have used from maxell,tdk, sony to ri-data etc, so that was a big big issue with me, so i said lets see how the media reader and usb work, both worked ok, i just have to have the files in the right format to read, read mp3's just fine, didnt do a movie yet but i am sure it will read it too, overall the item is easy to use and looks very nice sound speakers are loud. ok what next: I called the mfg directly to see if this thing like a paricular brand of blank dvd's but i said you know thats not good enough its within warranty i want a new one, i found out the company is located in walnut, ca, about 5 minutes from my home and asked if i could stop by and do a direct even exchange, the lady on the phone for customer service-Pamela was very nice and told me to come on over after bringing the item and the reciept she told me to sit down in the office waited about 20 min's for the technician to do the once over on my machine and they confirmed the laser on the dvd player was defective and not reading the discs so she brought out a new one put a blank movie they had (go figure!) and it played in seconds she jotted down the serial number and said have a great day, it was very good experience and the level of customer service was very good thank goodness i live close to the warehouse/offices or this probably would have been a big return and refund from the deal barn. I luv the product it works well and now i have tried all my different dvd's they all play well, so it was work the hassle of going directly to the mfg. and getting this done, so watch out when you first get yours if there is something wrong call the mfg, they are very good in getting you taken care of....

I bought this item a while back to watch my channel 7 soap opera during my lunch time at work. I must say I get alot of stations, but not channel 7. I was upset about that. Also I tried the DVD and CD player. That I would rate 5 stars. DVD was clear and FF & rewind worked great. I also thought the volume was sufficent. CD was fine also. I just don't understand Channel 7, but I got channel 2, 4, 5, 9 and a few others like Ion Tv, cartoon channel etc. I am in New Jersey and close to the Metro area. all in all I would say a good buy.

This little HD TV is great. The picture is great. The unit is very compact, well laid out and feels fairly solid. It scanned the local HD channels via the built in ATSC tuner faster than my $3K big screen. DVDs load quickly and play with no significant noise. It loaded high resolution pictures from a SD card quickly. The thing that surprised me the most was the sound. My wife had popped in a DVD to try it out and it was surprisingly loud without distortion, she had to turn it down so we could talk. Overall this is a heck of a mobile, mini HD TV/DVD/Card Reader/USB Reader and if you have kids you can bring it in the car utilizing the car power adapter and the back-of-the-seat mounting case. I use this while I am taking my lunch at work. I work the graveyard shift and I am so suprised of the amount of local channels it picks up! I have already recomended to several of my co-workers and customers to purchase there own. I am VERY pleased of the all around quality even down to the price. What a great little investment for anyone Esspecially for those who are in college dorms or just cant afford purchasing all those items seperatly.

Great product works well .good clear picture .I read other reviews that the volume was low .,but I didn't notice this .the volume was plenty loud enough .the tv had a great picture ,but didn't get but 3 channels all was very clear, well pleased .
