My gynecologist recommended I take a black cohosh supplement. Been taking for past 2-3 weeks and the number of hot flashes has decreased. I actually slept through the night a couple of times without waking up in a total soaking sweat! Previously I would be awakened 3-4x per night. The number of hot flashes during the days has also decreased. So far the mood swings and irritability has not decreased but will wait another 2-3 weeks to see full effect.
