An eye opening experience, December 4, 2001
This review is from: Enzymes: The Fountain of Life (Paperback)
Until I got my copy of this book, I had only heard about enzymes. I really had'nt a clue what they were or how they did
what they did.
I have been taking vitamin and mineral supplements for about
50 years. I started out with the original " one-a-day" vitamin.
A year or two ago I had heared that Vitamins were actually co-
enzymes. That interested me very much. This book answered not only several questions I had, but clearly showed what enzymes are
all about. Of course, research is constantly going on and very
important discoveries are beeing made. I think the work put in
on this book is admirable and hope a new revision is in order.
I am 73 years old and in very good health. But one thing
puzzled me. My arms would get these bruises so easily and last
for about two weeks. I thought that with all of the supplements
I was taking I would be above that. A month ago I started an enzyme supplement program. No,I did'nt consult a Doctor. About
three weeks into the program I noticed that my finger nails,
which were dull and splitting, were getting shiney and more solid. The bruising has been reduced to a small one now and then
compared to at least two or three at any one time. Note; Of the Docters I've been to, not one ever asked me about my diet or about anything that I ate. It is true that one should be careful
on taking any kind of supplements. But Doctors, even Nutritionist tend to bias to the negative side. without an explanation as to why. In my opinion, over the counter enzyme
supplements have enough information to not error on the negative
side. By all means, buy this book and enlighten not only yourself, but your friends as well. Sincerely Yours, Herb Moore.

Very good, but a little difficult here and there, January 10, 2007
This review is from: Enzymes: The Fountain of Life (Paperback)
This would have been a 5-star rating, but I got bogged down at times with too much science. The authors say they geared this to both lay people and students with a scientific background and that's exactly what you get. Fortunately, I had first read Humbart Santillo's Food Enzymes: Missing Link to Radiant Health, a much more reader-friendly primer.
Nevertheless, I do recommend this one if you're going to get serious about enzymes and want to delve deeper.
