Cool for a short time,

This is a cool idea, being that its like a credit card and all. But its pointless if you cant put it in your wallet because the button might get pushed when you sit. Well I took my chances and kept it in my wallet because whats the point of having a credit card flashlight if its not going to be with your credit cards? I received the item on June 19 2009 and the light became very dim today July 8 2009. So even though I may have pushed the button when I sat I figured it would last a little longer than 3 weeks. It a cool design, but rather impractical.....

Little Mighty Light,

Brightness issue:
This little pack gives off surprisingly bright light, considering its size. Ease of Use: Note that this type of credid-card size flashlights don't have a switch that keeps the light on constantly. This means you will have to manually keep it pressed if you want the light to stay on. And this could be tiring after a while, particularly one is likely to use in emegency and need to save energy and effort focusing on other things. However, this particular plastic exterior requires a lot less muscular energy to keep it pressed, in comparison to another more expensive design that uses metallic casing. Battery issue: As far as I can see, this thing is not designed to be taken apart. The plastic casing is translucent and it reveals 3 lithium-like batteries inside. I suppose the claim by Eon that this can be used for 5-10 years is true, since I bought several with metalic casing 3-4 years ago and they are still working. However, I didn't use them often enough and long enough to really see how long they are good for in continuous use (muscle gets tired pressing metallic case). You can get very cheap ones (around $5) that look like EON's, but they usually say it lasts 5 years, with 1-hour of continuous use. That definitely looks bad in comparison to this one, which claims a 168 hour use. Maybe Consumer Reports could test this out. Portability You can put this in your pocket easily. And if your wallet is not too stuffed, you can even put it in there. Price: At the time of this writing (July 2008), Amazon.com still has special offer on this item (buy 3, get 1 free). To make the best of this offer, make sure you buy in separate batches if you plan to buy 8, 12, or more. They don't seem to smart enough at the checkout to automatically give 1 free for every 3 you buy.

Adding to this review. It has been almost 4 years and it is still working great! It really is everlasting!!
I have been looking for some sort of compact "portable" flashlight for sometime. I didn't want one that was attached to my key chain because with the car remote on there, there is already too much bulky stuff on there So I saw this and thought I'd give it a shot. It is great! Easily fits into the inside pocket of a jacket, laptop carrying case, back pocket of your pants, where ever. It is bright and easy to handle whether lighthing a pathway to walk or a key hole on a lock. I highly recommend this (or any of the other colors :) )

Sir Ian Sinclair, one of the first folks to make a consumer computer (he was none too successful) has a very good product here.
I originally bought one of these in the UK at The Conran Shop and use it often. When the power goes out, this little light is really useful. It is so small that you can leave it in a drawer or spot and just reach for it in the dark. The thing has a lifespan that seems impossible - like 10 years. If like me, you make sure that Amazon has something in the mail to you often, you have spent more money less wisely on other products.

This small flashlight emits powerful beam of light & has come in handy more multiple uses. Great for reading the check under dim restaurant lighting. I've given a couple as gifts & the recipients loved them.

great idea, but it is so little that it is VERY easy to misplace, and the light source is also very little.

Easier to use, the pushbutton is more apparent on the card. Not as sleek as the stainless steel. Overall great product
