5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best...Subhumans...taking over your mind.
Compiling their first four EP's on one CD, this album is seething with some of the best anarcho-punk music to come out of the 80's. If great punk is what you want then this album is a must have! Throughout the tracks the subhumans never fail to provoke the listeners emotions and make want want to get up and smash the system.

3.0 out of 5 stars not my favorite
Not my favorite Subhumans album...the songs just aren't as good. There are some great tracks on here such as "Religious Wars" , "Peroxide" , "Cancer" and alot more but a good handful are very tedious...worthy enough to add to your collection though

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best...Subhumans...taking over your mind., May 20, 2004
This review is from: Ep-Lp (Audio CD)
Compiling their first four EP's on one CD, this album is seething with some of the best anarcho-punk music to come out of the 80's. If great punk is what you want then this album is a must have! Throughout the tracks the subhumans never fail to provoke the listeners emotions and make want want to get up and smash the system.

Througout this album, Lucas lashes out at everything from the threat of Nuclear holocaust (once again an all too relevant issue), the ubiquitous cancer of religion, and the inhumane cruelty of animal testing, to the corrupting influence of greed and materialism, and the pain of lost love.

Although there are other great punk albums out there, I don't think any of them compares to this one. Religious Wars is perhaps the greatest punk song ever written and from there this album falls very little. In an era when punk is being appropriated by mtv and big corporate record labels that try to pass off pathetic juvenile whining, and no-nothing politics as punk, it is great to put this album in the cd player and blast some old-school punk rock! What the Subhumans have produced here is punk music in the truest, rawest sense of the word, where the message is more important than the image; it is substance over style, it is a call to arms to all who oppose injustice, inequality and the corrupt political system of capitalism. As Lucas asks, "Who's going to fight the system? You? Me? or F&*#ing no one?"

The best material this band ever recorded are their first 4 ep's.And they're all here, beautifully remastered (the sound is excellent).Clocking in at a decent 42 minutes+,this is a skull-splitting record, with the guitar so loud and bright few people will be able to enjoy this as it was meant to be listened to,that is at full blast !!! As a bonus, only one of the ska-ish songs that will soften future album releases is present here, and it ain't bad !!.Sweetly priced release if all of the above aren't enough reasons.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic UK punk rock, October 19, 2001
By
This review is from: Ep-Lp (Audio CD)
Another Classic Subhumans album, EP-LP really show the Subhumans' punk rock talent, with a few surprises. While not as good as 'The Day the Country' died, this still has some awesome songs on it. 'Parasites,' 'Whos gonna Fight in the Third World War?' 'Religios Wars,' and 'Evolution' are the top songs on this album. The anarcho-peace punk lyrics are really great, and since its a bit hard to understand Dick, one owes it to him/herslef to read through the lyrics booklet. The Subhumans were one of the most politically insighful bands since the Dead Kennedys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyone needs to get this, August 26, 2000

I am so glad i finally got this on cd. My only copy of this was a copy , of a copy , of a copy , of a copy and it sounded terrible. I didn't even know the names of some of the songs. But this is my absolute favorite. "Peroxide" is the best song. They mix hard punk , reggae dub , and some other surprises. This is a great band.

5.0 out of 5 stars cracka lackin, June 2, 2009

This is a must have. Absolute killer album and timeless to. Lyrically this is the dogs bollocks. The Subhumans dont muck about and get stuck in to a bunch of topics that reflect on how messed up society is. My favourite songs are 'reason for existance', 'work expeirence'and 'its gonna get worse'. Having said that theres not a crap tune amongst them, this is a very political and topical CD and essinatial to any decent record collection.
