I bought this volume hoping to get good and brief commentaries on NT documents. Expositor's Bible commentaries are always faithful to the text of the Scripture. You can trust the authors because the authors are conservative Bible scholars from worldwide evangelical community. I have old volumes of Expositor's Bible Commentary, they are also very good. But this new volume is even better because it is revised. Commentaries on Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Pastoral Epistles are rewritten by modern Bible scholars, but commentaries on 1,2 Thessalonians and Philemon are revised and expanded. The authors use modern commentaries, theological articles from journals etc. The most helpful commentary is on Patoral Epistles by A. Kostenberger. It is worthy to buy this volume because of this author. Expositor's Bible Commentary is very good for expository preaching and Bible teaching preparation. You will not feel Calvinist-Arminian debates. It is a good volume and very useful for everyone who wants solid commentaries on the biblical text.

The commentary is very thorough and at the same time is written in a way that most people can follow and understand. I believe is a great tool for anyone that is studying the Bible.
