5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Solution for Tennis Elbow, October 8, 2010
I played tennis for many years, but only began noticing elbow pain due to working on the computer for many hours (part of my occupation). And for two years, I've struggled with wrist and elbow pain. I endured and spent a lot on physical therapy and yet the pain still lingered and got worse if I used my hand. As a result, I had to stop working or I'd be operated. I used a soft brace for over a year, and although it helped a bit, it didn't relieve entirely the problem.

About two months ago, I began to develop golf elbow tendinitis, and that led me to search for a new brace. The first few days using the Epi Sport I had more soreness in my muscles because it is more rigid than other braces. But after a week, my arm adapted to it and the pain was gone. I only have slight pain in my elbow if I stay too long on the computer or do too many activities in a day.

One of the changes that I had to make is, my doctor initially told me to use a brace only while I worked on the computer, but I ended up having elbow pain doing other chores like cooking, writing, etc.. So I began using the brace throughout the day, and viola, a big difference! My physical therapist confirmed that I can use it during the day, and when I sleep take it off. As a result, I don't suffer from pain as before. What a relief!

Prior to using any type of brace, in the morning I do daily warm up exercises for my hand and arm, and that helps. Taking breaks from chores helps too. And some people do well with ice and muscle cream.

Something I wasn't sure of when buying the brace was if it was made of latex? There were no indications. The inner part that touches the arm is made of some other material, not latex. It didn't cause me any allergies, so I'm quite pleased with it. The brace is also slim, so it is easily disguised and fits under a sleeved shirt in the winter time.

I'm truly pleased with this item. So far the other shoppers have also had positive results. My suggestion is to try it, if it doesn't work for you after a few weeks to a month, then do not give up and keep looking for solutions online or elsewhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars Epicondylitis Brace Does What It Should, February 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: EPI Sport Epicondylitis Clasp (Misc.)
This item was purchased to replace a similarly-designed elbow clasp. Works fine. One downside of this design in general - opposing side of arm develops a depression due to tension used to keep pressure on the inflamed portion of elbow. Would recommend to someone who needed a straightforward epicondyle clasp.
