Product Description

Train to one of the most beautiful rides on the East Coast! We start in Bar Harbor, Maine and climb out of town to the Acadia Park Loop Road entrance. We then ride the rolling Park Loop Road along the rugged Maine coast before cutting inland and a steady climb to the base of Cadillac Mountain. We then take a 20 minute climb up Cadillac Mountain, highest peak on the East Coast, with some amazing views along the way. We close out the ride with a fast spin back down Cadillac and then back into Bar Harbor and our starting point.

The video is shot as though you (the viewer) are riding with a group of other riders. The interaction with other riders made the ride seem more realistic. For example, you d see the rider ahead of you signaling rough pavement, then the camera would bounce over the rough spot. Or when you saw the cadence of the pack slow down, you got a better sense of how steep the climb was. --Pedal-0n Newsgroup Member

Overall Rating: Four Stars - Great! I loved the ride itself - great views, nice climbs, (almost) felt like I was actually riding outdoors. Very nice! I also really liked the dashboard showing the terrain profile - I made me push myself and simulate actual hills which is challenging to do on a spinning bike in your basement. --Kyle Fabrizio

Video Dashboard is pretty sweet- Terrain Profile broken down in 5 minute intervals is so nice. Enjoyed the bikecam shots. I love the Training Zone breakdown, three Training Ride options and Training Ride Template included in the download- excellent educational info and super useful info for training. Bottom line- terrific product! --Cycle Loft, Burlington, MA

This is a "one-hour training ride with digital dashboard." The digital dashboard includes a timer to show you how long you have been riding and a terrain profile with progress indicator.

The workouts are broken out into fairly short segments. Instruction is brief, although there are "Training Tips" that flash on the screen occasionally between the various rides. The scenery is beautiful. The ride takes place in a scenic route in Acadia National Park, followed by a "challenging climb to the top of Cadillac Mountain, highest peak along the East Coast!" Of course just 'how' challenging it is depends on how you adjust your own equipment for RPMs/resistance/cadence. There is apparently a downloadable training guide and Route Map, although I haven't had a chance to find those and check them out.

First they introduce the riders. They are shown frequently throughout the video. It looks like they are having a good time. Then we start riding. There is a digital on-screen clock that shows when we are going up a hill and how many seconds of climbing we have left on it. There is no guidance about specific RPMs or resistance. We're pretty much on our own to decide just how high that hill is and mimic it on our own equipment. That worked for me. I was watching my heart rate monitor and staying exactly where I wanted to be throughout the ride.

I enjoyed the workout and as usual with cycling videos, the workout time just seems to fly by.

Now I can smile while sweating. Acadia is one of my favorite places in the world. I get to see it on the screen while grunting on the trainer in my garage. The last 20 minutes of the workout is a hill climb. Challenging. The long climb happens after some rolling hill work.
