Book Description

Do you find yourself craving pizza topped with deep-fried chicken nuggets and fries? Does a six-patty burger buried under a mound of bacon have your mouth watering? How about a 5,800-calorie corn dog?

Harley Morenstein (a.k.a. The Sauce Boss), created EpicMealTime for the extreme chef in all of us. His kitchen crew (none of whom, amazingly enough, have had any culinary education or previous cooking experience), brings his artery-clogging visions to life—and now you can, too, using ingredients as diverse as waffles, chicken hearts, cake mix, tortilla chips, maple syrup, fast food menu items, bacon grease, Irish crème whiskey, cheese sticks, breakfast sausage, pounds and pounds of bacon . . . and much more!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun to read but useless to cook from April 27, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I liked the whacky aspect. It was funny to read. However, I want to cook some wild food that people can actually sit and eat. These recipes are more about showing off how crazy these guys are -- and they ARE crazy. It's a fun book for the coffee table, but not so useful on my cookbook shelf. Sorry guys.

One of my brothers wanted this book, and it being far, far cheaper here on Amazon than at B&N, I got it for him. Now, honestly, I think this book is very, very silly, being more of a "Let's combined as much meat in different commercial forms into one bucket, bake it, then eat it" than a cookbook. However, not only does my brother like to occasionally leaf through it for the "ZOMG That's cool!" factor, but it was on the dining room table when a group of my own friends came over, mature men in their 30's with families. And they ooh'd, ahhh'd, and laughed over it as well.

So in spite of my own feelings, guess there is some real entertainment value in this thing. On the technical side, the binding is okay, good page layouts, plenty of eye searing, gut churning, heart bursting pictures, and although absolutely ridiculous, the recipe directions are formatted clearly (if completely impractical).

5.0 out of 5 stars Best. Book. Ever. June 10, 2014
By Don
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Forget the bible, this book's on a whole nother level.

There's over 1,000,000 calories, and over 100 pages of bacon, what more could you want?

4.0 out of 5 stars but not as many as I would like in this book July 16, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Neat recipes, but not as many as I would like in this book. Volume 2 would be great, or a book from their show "Handle it" would be great.

Very hilarious book. Although I don't know how many recipes I will actually be using, it was a great and very entertaining read.

It was an amazing cookbook. Although creating it was an obvious struggle I loved the creativity!
