Product Description
Detailed aquatic graphics
Detailed aquatic graphics

You are a little fish with a big appetite and dreams of becoming a whopper. And so, you eat. And eat and eat and eat. And eventually, you Grow.

Big Fun

This is not your typical fishy game, where you mindlessly tap on the screen to feed your pet fish and wait for it to get bigger. In Grow, you are the fish, and you're trying to munch your way to the top of the aquatic food chain while avoiding becoming lunch yourself.

It's either chomp or be chomped

Impressive Visuals

The first thing you notice about Grow is the quality graphics. The creatures and environments are designed with imagination and feature impressive detail. The second thing that jumps out at you is the smooth controls, whether you choose the virtual joystick or the touch-and-drag option to move your fish around. Haptic feedback gives you that satisfying extra crunch. The look and feel alone make this app worth the price of admission.

It's a Fish-Eat-Fish World

Soon, however, you'll be caught up in Grow's addicting gameplay. Start out in Adventure mode to get a feel for the game. Your mission is quite simple--eat the small and medium-sized fish and avoid the big, ugly ones such as the puffer and angler fish. It's pretty easy to spot the bad guys because they sport red warning rings. The more you eat, the bigger you get.

A bar at the top of the screen gauges your progress--when it's full, you move on to the next level. You have a choice between Normal and Advanced difficulty settings, so you can challenge yourself as you get bigger and better.

Beware the fearsome puffer fish

Survival of the Fittest

Once you're feeling confident, it's time to switch to Survival mode. You begin life as a tiny egg in a cramped jar. Your goal is the deep blue sea. Advance through 78 different levels and seven fun environments by collecting points and gold coins. A multiplier effect helps you score big.

Grab the floating power-ups to give yourself bonus skills and attributes, or buy them in the official store with your coins. Record your high score for each level and share your achievements on Facebook. If you're a whale of a player you might swim your way up the global scoreboard.

We dare you--just try to resist this game. The premise may be simple, but you can't look away. And if you do--Crunch! Chomp! Gulp! Your growth is terminated.

1.0 out of 5 stars Be careful FaotD downloaders! September 19, 2013

This game is NOT free (or going to be free) of ads/IAPs. If you remember their other recent FaotD (missile defenders), that game also had no IAPs and no ads for the FaotD promotion. Now, it has both ads and IAPs.

Not only this, but about 2 weeks ago I checked this game (because it was FaotD a long time ago), and it had IAPs. I can't be certain it had ads, but the game gets increasingly impossible until you are forced to quit or buy items. I don't like these bait and switch tactics (but since the dev doesn't get money from Amazon I understand why it's done).

1.0 out of 5 stars Be careful June 23, 2011

love the game and all installed on family members phones during the free app day and noticed it sent 100mb of data and took 30% CPU while the game wasn't even running! was forced to uninstall, and as a app writer myself I must say this app behavior is sloppy and unprofessional.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Lost Leader for $$$$. September 19, 2013

Ad free? Meh- not really .. never mind that you really can't even play this game without buying add ons. I get the premise of selling more powers in games, everyone has to make a buck but this game equates to nothing except swimming a fish around to eat without spending money. You'll be bored of it in under 2 minutes.. You can't even let your kid play it because of the constant offers to buy more. Waste of time and energy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bait & switch September 19, 2013

Installed this in 2011 when it was the faotd then. I thought this was a good game and maybe even fun. No way it was either! Heavy app for Android devices. Eats memory and slows phone as well as drains the battery. App also sports IAP and plenty of ads. Uninstalled the same day. Bad programmer, bad!

UPDATE 11/14/2013: This review is still relevant. They still have not added in app purchases or adds. The reviews complaining about the bait-and-switch are no longer relevant. This company's integrity has apparently begun to Grow.

You can no longer spend extra money on the game after buying the game so that means you now get the whole game right away. There are no actual ads in game anymore either. This really helps to create a more immersive game.

That being said, we can now talk about the actual game. The game has cute graphics that may slow your device down a bit with lag. The sounds are peaceful. The game play extremely simple but fun. I've only really run into one unforgivable problem: the very last stage in the very last world force closes the game on me every time. Every time.

Still a pretty fun game and well worth the download.

2.0 out of 5 stars Game Producers Please Read! May 14, 2013

I absolutely love this game, it's great and addictive an I'm eager to finish it. But I can't there's a glitch on my kindle and another review mentioned it. The glitch in question is the inability to play the first level on the fourth habitat. My kindle freezes there when the 'speedy' info bubble appears an My kindle says that 'grow has stopped' the background changes to the selection of levels for the previous habitat. Please fix the glitch, I really love this game and look forward to an update lacking this flaw.

I dont know if I'm missing where it is, but this app does not seem to have an exit feature. I have to go and kill it in my task manager each time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun game
This is very similar to a Popcap game I really enjoyed on the PC, Feeding Frenzy. The more little fish you eat, the bigger you get. The bigger you get, the bigger fish you can eat.

The new update is attempting to bring new invasive permissions absolutely not needed for such a simple feed and grow game.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the time.
Boring, boring boring. Gets old really fast. Not all that much to do and can be the slightest bit frustrating at times. Got rid of it soon after first playing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Free app of the day when I got it, glad I didn't spend money.
Played it one time. Game was super easy. I knew it was basically a clone of [...] but I expected more for a product that they'd be charging for.
