As a molecular biologist wishing to learn more about epigenetics I hoped for a rational, balanced discussion of the subject. Instead I found a rant about one man's experiences in having his views discredited by many of his peers.
I cannot dispute there is a vast amount of background research quoted but much of it is completely irrelevant, both to the main theme of the book and also the subject I was hoping to learn more about. There is much to be concerned about in our modern healthcare system, and I agree that a more holistic approach should be taken, but these arguments are lost amidst the main author's obsession with pushing his own mineral supplements.
The book is full of inaccuracies and misleading information. It would have been helpful if a full list of sources had been cited, to allow readers to verify the facts and decide for themselves. He appears to have very little knowledge of genetics and he displays this ignorance by disputing the genetic causes of many diseases. While it is probable that the expression of many complex disorders could be modified by epigenetic factors, the basic cause of the disease cannot be denied. Perhaps if he had concentrated on how his essential minerals may influence genetic expression, some of his ideas may appear more creditable.
I found this book extremely poorly written, badly organised and full of inaccuracies. I cannot recommend it to anyone looking to expand their knowledge of epigenetics.
America has a health crisis, because it suffers from a truth and knowledge crisis. Read this book, and share the knowledge with everyone you know. Dr. Joel Wallach is a true genius, and a true American hero.
Unfortunately I still lose far to many friends and family to preventable chronic diseases in part because I can't get them to read his books or follow my Facebook group Warrior Immune System that I set up to help present his work. I loved the book.

This is a real eye-opener and shows you the truth about generics and that the genetics we are supposedly born with can be changed. Get an education...read this.Published 4 months ago by Robert M. Carnes
