This guitar is really worth its price at $400. It has a very nice look to it and its sounds great. Not only is it great for just blues or jazz kind of music, but rock music also sounds great on it too. And its not just a cheap start up guitar, but pros use it too. Both Josh Homme and Troy La Veewen ( i think thats how u spell it) of Queens of The Stone Age used this guitar for the Songs For the Deaf tour. If you don't believe me search Auto Pilot Queens of the Stone Age on youtube and look at what guitar they are using. Seriousely though if i did not buy it myself i would think this was at least $600 not $400. So if you are looking for a guitar to possibly gig with for not to much money this is one of your best choices.

Great Guitar,

I actually have a special edition with a flamed maple sunburst top and gold hardware, which I think looks better and is also the same price. This thing is a really nice instrument. It's gorgeous looking and, despite being a budget guitar, can get gorgeous tone. I've got a 15 watt Line 6 digital amp, and it even sounds great through that. The pickups are '57 Classic Alnicos (I don't know what alnico means, but it's good), and can get nice warm jazzy clean tones, wailing electric blues, fuzzy rock, punk, and thick metal. It sounds awesome on the bridge pickup with full midrange and about 3/4 treble, just enough distortion to get fuzzy power chords, and a bit of reverb. I highly recommend this guitar.

I had one of these years ago when they were made in Korea. I was unsure about getting one now since they are made in China. I was very pleased when I received the guitar, the craftsmanship is superb, no flaws at all. Beautiful finish, no fret buzz and set up ready to play right out of the box. I changed the strings to Gibson 10's and started playing. The new bridge and tail piece are a great improvement over the old ones. I can recommend this guitar highly.

My Epiphone Vintage Sunburst Dot is just a really nice guitar. The fast fret board, the wide variety of tones I can get from it, and the great looks are all primo. This guitar is terrific for Rock, Blues, or any music genre. I was been saving for a Fender Standard MIM Telecaster when I caught sight of the Epiphone Dots in Vintage Sunburst and one other color, I think it was cherry, were $100 off at the end of 2007. On a whim I decided to go with the Epiphone Dot since I did have enough saved up to buy it. If I didn't like it, I could return it and have my money refunded. Well, I fell in love with it and did not have the slightest desire to send it back. It sounds great played clean or with effects. I play it through a Line 6 Spider III 15 watt amp. My Epiphone Dot is so beautiful to look at and feels so wonderful to hold and play I can't believe I really own this treasure. I've actually lost interest in getting a Tele now that I have this Epiphone gem. If you can't afford a Gibson ES335 the Epiphone Dot, in any color, will fill the order just fine.

...when I received it from Amazon, the lower pickup volume control was not functioning correctly. I brought it to a local guitar specialist and he found that the entire control mechanism was "loosely" connected. He fixed it very quickly.Otherwise, I love the guitar.

i got this because i always wanted a semi-hollow body. i did not have the money to drop on a gibson; but i do own 4 gibsons. i play on a valve state 8100 head( yes the same head that the gtar player from rob zombie uses) and a mesa 4/12 cab. this thing sounds great. it is very clean and crisp. nice highs and chuncky lows. if you need something great that will not break the bank. this is it.
