this thing plays great!! action is low but does not buzz, very easy to chord.
i highly recomend this guitar.

You can't do much better than this for 100 bucks. I did notice a bit of buzzing on my first few plays, but that's stopped for some reason.

For $99, this is an amazing buy!

I bought this Epiphone DR-100 as a cheap beginner instrument. It EXCEEDED my wildest expectations! The factory strings are a bit buzzy according to my more experience friend, but a new set of strings fixed that immediately. Comes with two buttons, so there is no need for a silly shoe string to hold your strap. Good action, beautiful sound and has and attractive shine and grain pattern.
Simply couldn't be more happy with my purchase.

For the money, I don't think you can do better. This guitar sounds exactly like a 500 dollar yamaha my friend has. It's awesome. The action is a little high, but for $100, no complaints here. Love it

I bought this for my step dad for Christmas. He wanted to learn to play. I thought "Well, if he gives up on it, I'm only out a hundred bucks.". When it arrived, I opened it up to make sure it wasn't in pieces before wrapping it. I was blown away. The finish was flawless. The fret ends were nicely dressed. The neck was straight. There was no glue squeezing out from under the bracing. The headstock has an actual inlay instead of a decal. It sounded a little tinny with stock strings, as other reviews here have noted, so I put some Martin 9s on it to ease him into callused fingers. It sounds really good! My own acoustic is a Seagull with a cedar top. The spruce on the Epiphone is a little brighter, but not at all harsh. The neck is surprisingly thin and narrow. Good for smaller hands. It's a lot like an Ibanez electric neck, in fact. It may not project like a Gibson, but I wasn't at all displeased with its tone, which will only improve with time. If you're looking for a good deal on a beginners acoustic, look no further.

It's nice out of the box. Sounds much better than my son's First Act. I'll follow up after I learn to play.

After taking my new DR-100 out of the box I tuned it up and started playing. Nice clean, rich sound. Whether you strum hard or ever so soft or even choose to softly finger pick the DR-100 delivers beautiful sound. After the initial first few days the strings stretch in and after a 2nd tuning the guitar keeps in tune very well. The finish is nothing short of gorgeous making the DR-100 a very good value. I highly recommend this guitar for begginer or experienced player alike.

this guitar has lasted me three years and it is still like brand new. the strings buzz really bad when you play anything past the 5th fret when you first get it, but that stops after about a month. the finish is great, and the overall appearance is sexy, the only real complaint i have is that the tuning heads feel a little bit cheap, and it takes a little more patience to tune, but other than that this is a great guitar.
