Product Description

Editorial Review

When the Star Wars crowd sees this game, they'll probably be reminded of Operation, that classic game where you use little tweezers to pluck body parts out of an unfortunate patient--every time you made a mistake, his red nose would light up and buzz. Although Escape from Naboo is quite similar, this time you're replacing damaged ship parts to fix the hyperdrive on Queen Amidala's elegant Royal Starship. The technology has changed a bit since the '70s, and this type of game has only gotten better: you lift cool chrome parts out of Amidala's 14-inch-long transport with futuristic forceps, plugging each piece's cord into the hyperdrive as you try to beat a variable time limit. And, way better than a jarring buzzer, actual character voices from Phantom Menace cheer you on! --Paul Hughes

You have very little time to get the pieces into their proper places. Just getting the pieces in is difficult enough in and of itself. My son became very frustrated with this toy, so I played it for awhile with him to see if there was some way I could help make the process easier. I found it to be very hard to do as an adult. When they recommend this toy for ages 8 and up I would say that may even be too young. My son likes the way the toy looks, and the fact that you hear actual character voices, but as for playing with it according to the directions, this is something that rarely happens in our home.
